Creston Police report - Dec. 9, 2024

David J. Richman, 43, of Creston, was taken into custody 4:47 p.m. Dec. 6 in the 500 block of Livingston Avenue on a Union County warrant for the charge of failure to appear on the original charge of probation violation.

According to Union County District Court documents, Richman was ordered to appear Nov. 22, for a hearing on the original charge and did not.

Richman was transported to the Union County Jail and held on $5,000 cash only bond.

Noah A. Young, 25, of Creston, was taken into custody 2:15 p.m. Dec. 7, in the 800 block of North Lincoln Street on three Union County warrants for the charges of: failure to appear on the original charge of theft, fifth degree and two for the charge of failure to appear on the original charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was additionally charged with interference with official acts.

According to Union County District Court documents, Young was ordered to appear Oct. 15 for pretrial hearings on the original charges and did not.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 2:15 p.m. officers performed a warrant check for Young at his residence. Young locked and barricaded himself in his room before eventually exiting and being taken into custody.

Young was transported to the Union County Jail and held on $3,000 cash or surety bond.

Robbie A. Dohrn, 60, of Creston, was taken into custody 4:45 p.m. Dec. 7, at his residence on a Union County warrant for the charge of OWI, second offense.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 6:42 p.m. Oct. 12, Dohrn was observed driving a Yamaha motorcycle at Elm and Page streets and stopped. During the investigation, officers believed Dohrn to be under the influence of a substance. Dohrn also made statements about recent methamphetamine use.

Dohrn consented to field sobriety and ARIDE testing and showed validated clues and indicators of impairment. Dohrn consented to provide a urine sample for chemical testing which was sent to the state laboratory. On Nov. 21, a toxicology report was received from the Iowa DCI lab showing a positive screen for amphetamines. The report further stated there was a confirmed presence of methamphetamine.

Dohrn was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond.

Nicki R. Jones, 42, of Creston, was taken into custody 11:21 a.m. Dec. 8, at Commerce Road and Highway 34 on the charge of driving while barred.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 11:10 a.m. a traffic stop was conducted on a 2002 Chevrolet pickup pulling a trailer that had no license plates on it. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Jones. Jones was found to have a barred license.

Jones was transported to the Union County Jail where she was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond.

Keaton M. Ballinger, 20, of Creston, was taken into custody 12:04 p.m. Dec. 8, at the Union County Law Enforcement Center and charged with 11 counts of theft, fifth degree.

According to a Creston Police report, between Oct. 6 and Nov. 29, Ballinger was seen on Walmart surveillance footage taking merchandise without paying for it on 11 occasions. The total dollar amount of items taken each time did not exceed $300. Ballinger admitted to the thefts.

Ballinger was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $3,300 cash or surety bond.

Teresa A. Moore, 58, of Creston, was taken into custody 3:28 p.m. Dec. 8, at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on the charge of OWI, first offense.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 1:45 p.m. an concerned citizen contacted police about Moore’s behavior outside of her home. The citizen became more concerned when Moore was witnessed driving a 2005 Chevrolet Suburban. Officers located the Suburban at approximately 2:29 p.m. at Ringgold and Elm streets and observed Moore to be driving while using her cell phone. Contact was made with Moore, who was observed to have rapid speech, bloodshot eyes, rigid movements and impaired balance.

Moore made statements about recently consuming medicinal marijuana. She consented to field sobriety and ARIDE testing and showed validated clues and indicators of impairment. She refused to provide a urine sample for chemical testing.

Moore was transported to the Union County Jail where she was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.

Kristine L. Pearson, 37, of Creston, was taken into custody 2 a.m. Dec. 9, at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on the charge of domestic abuse assault.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 1:10 a.m. a domestic assault was reported in the 500 block of West Spencer Street. When officers arrived they observed the living room area of the home to be in disarray, giving the appearance an altercation had taken place, with items scattered and knocked over.

Police spoke with a male who stated Pearson had assaulted him. The victim said Pearson had struck him, at one point grabbed a knife and also prevented the victim from leaving the bathroom in the residence, essentially barricading the victim in.

Pearson made a statement about hugging the victim, but no further physical actions.

Pearson was transported to the Adams County Jail and held without bond until seen by a judge.
