All-State girls basketball teams announced

Nodaway Valley's Izzy Eisbach was named to the all-state first team.

At the conclusion of Iowa girls state basketball, the Iowa Girls Coaches Association and the Iowa Print Sport Writers Association announced their All-State basketball team selections.

Izzy Gilbertson of Mount Ayr and Izzy Eisbach of Nodaway Valley were each selected by both organizations while Lenox senior Sadie Cox earned a spot on the IGCA team.

Averaging over 30 points per game and leading all classes with 734 points, Eisbach earned a first-team spot from both organizations.

Through the season, Eisbach set new school records in field goals made (250), 3-pointers made (88), free throws made (145), points scored (734), steals (122), points scored in a game (51), 3-pointers in a game (9) and tied records for field goals made in a game (17) and free throws made in a game (12). She moved into third place in school history for points scored with 1,534 after collecting her 1,000th career point early this season as a junior.

She led Class 2A in field goals and free throws while having the second-most 3-pointers and third-most steals.

Gilbertson earned second-team honors in Class 1A from both organizations.

She averaged 14.7 points per game and 9.6 rebounds per game.

The sophomore led the Raiderettes in field goals (140), rebounds (221), blocks (49) and points (337).

Cox earned a spot on the IGCA third-team. She ranked third in Class 1A in defensive rebounds (241) and fourth in total rebounds (355).

She led the Tigers in field goals (164), rebounds (355), steals (106) and blocks (55).
