Hanson named to H10 All-Conference volleyball

Creston's Jaycee Hanson (3) sends an attack through the block attempt of Clarinda's Kylie Meier (4) and Miley Wagoner (7). Hanson had a team-high six kills and 17 digs for the back row defense.

For the second year in a row, Creston outside hitter Jaycee Hanson has earned Hawkeye 10 All-Conference honors.

Named to honorable mention as a sophomore, her junior season she’s earned second-team recognition.

Last season, Hanson led the Panthers with 85 kills. This season she led again, but with 152 kills — nearly doubling her total from a season ago.

From the service line, Hanson was a 92.6% efficiency, succeeding in 201 out of 217 attempts. She also served 16 aces.

Outside of libero Avery Staver, Hanson logged the most digs, putting up 193.

It was a year of talent for Hawkeye 10 hitters, 18 girls putting up more than 200 kills.

Charley Hernandez of Glenwood was the conference leader with 401. Hanson’s 152 stacked up 24th.

Kuemper Catholic, Glenwood and Lewis Central were crowned H10 tri-champions, each with a 9-1 record.

Kuemper Catholic qualified for the state tournament where they fell 3-1 to Walhert Catholic. Glenwood also qualified for state, falling 3-0 to North Scott.

Lewis Central made it to the Region 5 championship where they were topped 3-1 by Sergeant Bluff-Luton.
