After a 20-16 regular season with a 17-3 Hawkeye 10 record, the Panthers placed second in the conference and five athletes earned all-conference honors.
First Team
Junior Ava Adamson earned a spot on first team all-conference for the second year in a row. She was recognized for her efforts as catcher and shortstop.
With 142 outs on 167 attempts, Adamson had a .928 fielding percentage.
At the plate, she led the Panther starters with a .484 batting average and 37 runs. Her batting average is fifth best in the Hawkeye 10.
Adamson was second in home runs with eight, and led with four triples and 12 doubles. She stole 18 bases on 19 attempts, a team-high. Her 96 total bases is second in the Hawkeye 10.
Junior Taryn Fredrickson bumped up from second team all-conference last year to a spot on the first team this year.
Fredrickson was recognized for her work in the circle where she was the Panthers’ go-to.
She struck out 170 batters this season and has the most wins of any H10 pitcher, 18. She also had the most pitching appearances (29), pitching starts (27) and innings pitched (168).
At the plate, Fredrickson logged 37 hits, nine runs and 28 RBIs. She had a .356 batting average.
Second Team
Senior Sophie Hagle made second team all-conference for the second year in a row for her second-baseman position.
With only three errors on the season, Hagle sits at fifth in the Hawkeye 10.
Hagle had outs this season for a .971 fielding percentage.
She was a consistent starter at second base for the Panthers and Coach David Hartman said she was a leader on and off the field. Hagle was the team’s only senior.
Hagle had 24 hits and 14 runs this season, stealing nine bases. She had 16 RBIs.
Junior Jersey Foote earned all-conference honor for a second year in a row as a centerfielder.
Not only did Foote excel defensively in the outfield, she led the conference with 12 home runs.
The Panthers had three in the top five for home runs, Adamson in third with eight and sophomore Avery Staver in fifth with five.
This season, Foote moved into second place for single-season and career home runs, breaking ties with Haylee LaMasters (22, 10) and Nevaeh Randall’s junior season (10). Randall is the career leader with 47 and single-season leader with 21. Foote now has 24 all time.
Foote’s 36 RBIs led the Panthers and was fourth in the Hawkeye 10. Her 82 total bases is fifth.
In centerfield, Foote had 55 catches on 65 total chances for a .923 fielding average. She made only five errors.
Staver earned second team honors in her first year as a Panther after transferring from East Union.
Staver played a variety of positions for Creston including short stop and left field.
Staver had 28 hits and 28 runs with 26 RBIs. She had 32 outs this season including an incredible over-the-fence catch to steal a home run and save the Panthers’ lead.
Her 17 walks led the Panthers and was fourth in the conference.
The Panthers bring back four of the five players for next season.
