Creston football meets new district opponents

Creston Panther football will have newcomers to Class 3A District 6 football next season with Nevada and Perry. The district listings were released Monday by the Iowa High School Athletic Association.

Nevada and Perry replace Adel-DeSoto-Minburn and Saydel from last year’s district list.

Last year, Nevada finished 8-3 with a second-round loss in the playoffs to North Polk. Perry finished 1-9 in 2022 but forfeited the remainder of its season with three games left. The forfeiture was because of multiple injuries.

Other District 6 teams for the next two seasons are Atlantic, Harlan and Knoxville.

Football schedules are to be released in the spring.
