A big, early lead turned into a 13-2 win for Clarinda softball Tuesday at Clarinda.
Creston scored two in the first and added another five runs in the second inning.
Creston was led by Neveah Randall who finished with four hits and four RBIs. She also scored two runs and had two stolen bases. For team totals, Creston finished with 13 hits and drew five walks. The Panthers only had one strikeout.
Keely Coen pitched five innings and struck out three. Clarinda’s scores came in the fifth inning. The game was rescheduled from June 24 because of weather.
Creston (18-10) finishes the regular season with a a doubleheader Thursday at Denison-Schleswig. First pitch is 5:30 p.m.
Creston’s Class 4A Region 2 game is vs. Glenwood is 7 p.m., July 8 in Creston. Winner plays at 7 p.m. July 10 at Winterset. On the other side of the bracket is Denison-Schleswig vs. Lewis Central, also played July 8. The winner of that game plays at Harlan July 10.
Regional championship is 7 p.m. July 13. Location has not been determined.
