Union County: Victim says Creston man pushed, punched them

Dennis G. Tyler, 47, of Creston, was taken into custody April 12 in the 800 block of Laurel Street on the charge of domestic abuse assault, second offense.

According to a Union County Sheriff’s Office report, at approximately 2 p.m. Tyler and the victim were at Twelve Mile Lake. According to the victim, they were pushed to the ground and punched in the face by Tyler at the lake. The victim and Tyler then drove back to Creston. The victim had dirt on their back and a bruise on the left cheek where they said Tyler punched them.

After being transported to the law enforcement center, Tyler consented to a PBT, the result of which showed his BrAC to be .326%. He told deputies the victim also punched him and put cigarettes out on his chest.

Tyler was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond.
