Shaenia L. Allison, 36, of Des Moines, was taken into custody 8:58 p.m. April 21, at Maple and Montgomery streets on the charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while suspended.
According to a Creston Police report, a traffic stop was conducted on a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt due to the driver having a suspended license.
Contact was made with the driver, confirmed to be Allison, and her license status was confirmed to be suspended. Allison gave consent to search the Cobalt. During the search three syringes were located in the car. Allison admitted the syringes were for drug use and said she had taken them from a friend and forgot they were still in the vehicle.
Allison was cited and released on a summons to appear.

Troy L. McKinney, 54, of Des Moines, was taken into custody 3:56 p.m. April 22, at Adair and Lincoln streets on the charges of driving while suspended and possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, first offense,.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 3:41 p.m. a traffic stop was conducted on a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier for failure to yield the right of way. Contact was made with the driver, identified as McKinney, who was found to have a suspended license.
McKinney gave officers consent to search the Cavalier. An open can of beer and a THC vape pen were located in the car.
McKinney was transported to the law enforcement center where he was cited and released from on a summons to appear.
