An Osceola man is being charged a Class B felony and a serious misdemeanor stemming from a 2022 incident.

Andrew C. Rider, 29, was taken into custody April 9 on a Clarke County warrant on the charges of sexual abuse, second degree and domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness.

According to an Osceola Police report, the victim stated Rider wanted to be intimate Sept. 24, 2022, but she did not want to. Rider proceeded to get on his knees on the bed and punch her repeatedly in the face. He removed her pants, having sexual intercourse with her against her will.

The victim provided several photos of severe facial bruising from the incident. She also suffered a broken tooth and believes it to be a result of the assault.

Rider was transported to the Clarke County Jail where he was released from after posting $26,000 cash or surety bond.

Arraignment is scheduled for 9 a.m. May 1, at the Clarke County Courthouse.
