An SUV was damaged when it was rear-ended by a inattentive driver Thursday in Creston.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 2:41 p.m. a 2010 Ford Edge, driven by Ridge A. Casteel, 29, of Creston, and a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country, driven by Cynthia A. Theis, 24, of Creston, were both eastbound on Taylor Street.
The Ford was stopped behind another vehicle turning north into the Dairy Queen parking lot when it was rear-ended by the Chrysler. Theis admitted she was not paying attention and did not notice the stopped Ford.
Theis complained of possible injuries due to airbag deployment in her vehicle but refused medical attention at the scene. Later, Theis told law enforcement she went to the emergency room for neck pain.
Damage to the Ford was estimated at $500 and damage to the Chrysler was estimated at $2,000.

A one-vehicle accident Friday in Union County resulted in a passenger being transported to the hospital for possible injuries.
According to a Union County Sheriff’s Office report, at approximately 10:30 a.m. a 1999 Ford Ranger, driven by Dimitri E. Brown, 15, of Jefferson, was northbound on 240th Street, negotiating a curve, when it left the road and entered into the north ditch.
Brown told deputies he swerved to avoid a deer causing him to lose control of the truck. The Ranger struck an embankment and overturned before coming to rest on its top.
A passenger in the truck, Ryan M. Mahurin, 29, of Jefferson, complained of pain and was transported by ambulance to Greater Regional Health for possible injuries.
Damage to the Ranger was estimated at $8,000.
