Troy E. McKinney, 61, of Creston, was taken into custody 11:17 p.m. Feb. 14, at Broad and Jefferson streets on the charges of possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine, third or subsequent offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to a Creston Police report, a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am was stopped for not having license plate lights. Contact was made with the driver, identified as McKinney, who consented to field sobriety testing. McKinney showed validated clues of impairment and admitted to smoking marijuana a couple of hours before being stopped.

When asked if he had anything illegal on him before being placed in a patrol unit, McKinney admitted to having methamphetamine and a methamphetamine pipe on his person. McKinney handed the pipe and a baggie containing approximately one gram of a crystal substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine to officers.

McKinney has prior drug possession convictions from 2005 in Dallas County and 2014 in Union County.

McKinney was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $5,300 cash or surety bond.

Amy L. Whitney, 50, of Creston, was taken into custody 2:02 a.m. Feb. 15, at Ringgold and Maple streets on the charges of driving while suspended, possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine, first offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 1:49 a.m. a traffic stop was conducted on a 2010 Chrysler Sebring for crossing the centerline, driving in the wrong lane of traffic and failure to wear a seatbelt.

Contact was made with the driver, identified as Whitney, who told officers she had methamphetamine and a methamphetamine pipe in her wallet. A probable-cause search was conducted and both items were located. The substance in the baggie later field-tested positive for methamphetamine.

Whitney was transported to the Union County Jail where she was released from after posting $1,300 cash or surety bond.

Christopher G. Selvy, 22, of Creston, was taken into custody 9:10 a.m. Feb. 15, at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on three Union County warrants for the charges of failure to appear on the original charge of driving while license revoked or denied, failure to appear on the original charge of operating without an interlock device and failure to appear on the original charge of driving while suspended.

According to Union County District Court documents, Selvy was ordered to appear in court Jan. 28 for initial appearances on the original charges and did not.

Selvy was transported to the Union County Jail and held on $1,600 cash or surety bond.

John W. Egly IV, 18, of Creston, was taken into custody 10:51 p.m. Feb. 15, at Cedar and Mills streets on the charges of driving while revoked and operating without an interlock device.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 10:39 p.m. a traffic stop was conducted on a 2005 GMC pickup due to the driver, identified as Egly, having a revoked license. Contact was made with Egly and he was confirmed to have a revoked license. Egly is also required to have an ignition interlock device in his vehicle and did not.

Egly was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,300 cash or surety bond.

Glenn S. Loe, 29, of Clearfield, was taken into custody 1:20 a.m. Feb. 16, at Oak and Montgomery streets on the charges of OWI, first offense and persons ineligible to carry dangerous weapons.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 1:09 a.m. a traffic stop was conducted on a 2012 Dodge Charger for traffic violations. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Loe, who exhibited several clues of impairment including the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person, bloodshot, watery eyes and slurred speech. Open cans of Twisted Tea were in plain view inside the vehicle.

A probable cause search was conducted and officers located a handgun next to the driver’s seat. After being transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center, Loe consented to field sobriety testing and showed validated clues of impairment. A PBT indicated Loe’s BrAC to be above .08%. Loe consented to provide a breath specimen for chemical testing, the result of which indicated a BAC of .228%.

Loe was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond.
