Adair County arrests - Feb. 18, 2025

Shawn A. Farlow, 46, of Stuart, was taken into custody 7:40 p.m. Feb. 10, in the 1900 block of Riverside Avenue in Stuart on the charges of domestic abuse assault - first offense and obstruction of emergency communications.

According to a Greenfield police report at approximately 5 p.m. Feb. 10, officers responded to Greenfield to speak with a female reporting a domestic assault which occurred in Stuart. The female stated she and Farlow had been arguing all day and the argument escalated after they had picked up their children. The female said Farlow would not let her take the juveniles and grabbed her by the wrist and pulled her toward the door. The female told one of the juveniles to call 911 but Farlow took the phone and put it in his pocket.

The female went to her vehicle and locked the doors. Farlow attempted to pull the doors open and eventually jumped on the car as she was trying to leave. After Farlow got off the car, the female drove to Greenfield to report the incident.

One of the juveniles told police that the female and Farlow were arguing when they picked the juveniles up from school and that Farlow was trying to grab ahold of the female to hug her but the female had to keep pushing Farlow away from her. The juvenile said although the female told him to call 911, he also felt it was necessary. He also stated Farlow took the phone from him while he was attempting to make the call and had already entered the first two digits of the number.

Farlow was transported to the Adair County Jail where he was released from after posting $300 cash or surety bond.

Leroy Delgado, 31, of Greenfield, was taken into custody 5 a.m. Feb. 14, in Greenfield on the charge of possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine, first offense.

According to a Greenfield Police report, at approximately 3:53 a.m. officers were dispatched to Cardinal Glass where an employee had reported finding a small plastic bag with a white powdery substance inside to a supervisor. When officers arrived they were shown a video of the baggie falling out of the pants pocket of a male, identified as Delgado. Another employee then picked up the baggie and threw it in the trash.

The substance field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Delgado was brought into the supervisors’ office where officers questioned him about the baggie. Delgado claimed he didn’t know what the baggie was and had never seen it before. After being taken into custody, Delgado told officers the baggie wasn’t his and he was holding it for a coworker so he could throw it away.

Delgado was transported to the Adair County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.

Daney Li Chub, 22, of Stuart, was taken into custody 4:17 p.m. Feb. 15, in the 1000 block of Highway 25 in Menlo on the charges of OWI, first offense; failure to provide proof of insurance; no valid driver’s license; driving on the wrong side of a two-way highway and open container.

According to an Iowa State Patrol report, at approximately 2:55 p.m. a 2016 Ford Fusion was reported traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 near mile marker 83. Two vehicles reportedly crashed to avoid the Ford but the Ford continued eastbound until exiting at Exit 86. Troopers located the Ford parked in a lot off of the exit. Troopers observed vomit on the ground at the driver’s door. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver, identified as Li Chub, who appeared extremely intoxicated. When Li Chub rolled down the car window, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected. Li Chub provided a Guatemalan identification card to troopers. Li Chub was observed to have impaired balance even while seated in the car and bloodshot, watery eyes.

Li Chub was asked to step out of the vehicle and was observed to be covered in vomit. An open container of Modelo beer was observed in the in the driver’s side door as well as several open containers in the backseat of Modelo and Fireball and Jose Cuervo shooters. LiChub was assisted into a different clean shirt and transported to the Adair County Jail to complete field sobriety testing in an environment free from the weather conditions.

Through a Spanish interpreter, Li Chub consented to field sobriety testing and showed multiple clues of impairment and was unable to safely complete some of the tests. He refused to provide a breath specimen for chemical testing. Due to his level of intoxication, Li Chub was taken to the Greenfield Hospital where he was medically cleared before being booked into jail.

Li Chub was transported back to the Adair County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,300 cash or surety bond.
