Union County arrest report - Jan. 31, 2025

Tony Davidson, 19, of Creston, was taken into custody 12:53 a.m. Jan. 20, at Highway 34 and Talmage Road on the charges of possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, first offense and possession of paraphernalia.

According to a Union County report, at approximately 12:18 a.m. a traffic stop was conducted on a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze which Davidson was a passenger. Deputies detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver and Davidson admitted to having narcotics in the car and a search of the vehicle resulted in the location of several items of paraphernalia and a green leafy substance, consistent with marijuana. Davidson had a THC pen on his person and admitted the other items found were his. He also admitted to smoking marijuana prior to traffic stop.

Davidson was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,300 cash or surety bond.

Jackie L. Marler, 39, and Hayley J. Vandel, 31, both of Thayer, were taken into custody Jan. 21, at 210th Street near Quail Avenue following a pursuit. Marler was charged with possession of a controlled substance, third or subsequent offense and possession of paraphernalia. Vandel was charged with possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine, first offense; possession of paraphernalia; driving while barred and felony eluding - 25 mph or more above the speed limit. Vandel was also cited for speeding (21 mph or over), failure to refile SR22 insurance, failure to provide proof of insurance, operating a non-registered vehicle, four counts of failure to obey a traffic control device, driving on the wrong side of a two-lane highway and reckless driving.

According to Union County reports, at approximately 9:28 p.m. a Cadillac CTS without license plates was observed southbound on Palomino Drive near Highway 34. A traffic stop was initiated but the Cadillac did not stop. The Cadillac attempted to flee from deputies, committing multiple traffic violations and traveling 25 mph or more above the speed limit.

The Cadillac stopped at 210th Street where deputies observed the vehicle to be occupied by a female driver, identified as Vandel and a passenger, identified as Marler. A K-9 was deployed and gave a positive alert on the Cadillac. A probable cause search was conducted and a hypodermic needle, loaded with a clear substance, was located in the center console. Neither Vandel or Marler claimed ownership of the needle. The contents of the syringe will be sent to the state laboratory for analysis.

Vandel was found to have a barred license.

Marler has two previous controlled substance convictions, April 2005 in Taylor County and October 2019 in Adams County.

Marler and Vandel were transported to the Union County Jail where Marler was released from on $5,300 cash or surety bond and Vandel was released on $8,300 cash or surety bond.

Jeremiah L. Parcher, 48, of Lorimor was taken into custody 2:52 a.m. Jan. 27, at Kansas Avenue and 2nd Street in Lorimor, following an earlier pursuit on the charges of driving while barred and eluding - speeds of 25 mph over the limit, second or subsequent offense.

According to a Union County report, at approximately 10:40 p.m. Jan. 26, deputies attempted to stop a 2009 Chevrolet Impala at 5th Street and Highway 169 in Lorimor for traffic violations. The Impala, which was registered to Parcher’s son, did not stop and led law enforcement on a pursuit that went into Clarke County before successfully eluding law enforcement. The pursuit reached speeds of 84 mph in a 50 mph zone.

The Impala was recovered at Clarke-Union Avenue and 140th Street, unoccupied.

Another vehicle was later stopped in which Parcher was a passenger in. Other passengers in the stopped vehicle stated they had picked him up where the Impala was parked and he told them he had been pulled over and needed a ride. Parcher admitted the registered owner of the Impala was not in the area. The Impala has been observed at Parcher’s residence multiple times and Parcher had been stopped driving the Impala in the past.

Parcher has a prior conviction of felony eluding and his license is barred.

Parcher was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $12,000 cash or surety bond.

Robert D. Bullock, 62, of Iowa City, was taken into custody 2:45 a.m. Jan. 27, at Kansas Avenue and 3rd Street in Lorimor on the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to a Union County report, at approximately 1:33 a.m. Bullock was identified as the driver of a vehicle stopped for a traffic violation. The vehicle was also occupied by another subject involved in an earlier incident who had fled from law enforcement. During the investigation into the incident, a K-9 was deployed and gave a positive alert to Bullock’s vehicle.

A probable cause search was conducted and a glass pipe used to smoke methamphetamine was located between the driver’s seat and center console. Bullock admitted the pipe was his and he had used it to smoke methamphetamine earlier in the day.

Bullock was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $300 cash or surety bond.

David W. Crabb Jr., 42, of Lorimor, was taken into custody 2:55 p.m. Jan. 27, at his residence on the charges of possession of a controlled substance, third or subsequent offense and possession of paraphernalia.

According to a Union County report, a family member who lives at the same residence reported to law enforcement they had observed Crabb to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Deputies responded to the residence and determined Crabb had in his possession paraphernalia and a white powdery substance, which tested positive for methamphetamine.

Crabb was transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center and held on $5,000 cash or surety bond.

On Jan. 28, while being held in the Union County Jail, Crabb was served on two Union County Warrants charging him with theft, third degree and disorderly conduct.

According to a Creston Police report, on Jan. 22 Walmart staff provided officers with video footage of a shoplifting incident. A man riding a scooter was observed putting two items, valuing $34.94, in his cart and then driving the scooter past the registers to the front doors of the store. The man then walked out of the store with the unpaid items.

Officers identified the male as Crabb, who has two prior theft conviction in 2023 in Polk County.

According to a Union County report, at approximately 1:24 p.m. Jan. 24, Crabb went to the East Union School on High School Drive in Afton where he made contact with a member of the school administration. During the interaction, Crabb directed abusive statements and threats toward the staff member and told him that he needed to start checking the brake lines on his vehicles.

The warrants added $2,300 in bonds, causing Crabb to be held on a total of $7,300 cash or surety bond.
