Jeremy J. E. Seley, 19, of Creston, was taken into custody 12:30 p.m. Jan. 6, at Spillway Road on the charge of abandonment of cats and dogs.
Animal Control informed officers an abandoned cat was found in the McKinley Park campground. The cat had a chip and was registered to a female who stated she moved and gave the cat to her sister and her sister’s boyfriend, identified as Seley. In text messages between the female and Seley, it was said they left the cat in the cold in a box at the campground. The text said the decision to leave the cat was Seley’s because it was his cat.
Animal Control attempted to speak with Seley at his residence. No one answered the door but the officer heard people inside the house.
Seley was cited and released on a summons to appear by mail.
