No citations were issued in a two-vehicle accident Monday afternoon in Creston.

According to a Creston Police Report, at approximately 4:22 p.m., a 2017 GMC Terrain driven by Thomasina Jackson, 38, of Creston, was traveling eastbound on West Devoe Street in Creston when it struck a legally parked 2000 Jeep Wrangler in the rear driver side.

After striking the Wrangler, owned by Timothy Williams of Creston, the Terrain flipped and came to rest on the driver side. The Wrangler was pushed into Williams’ front yard.

Jackson stated she had looked down to ash her cigarette just prior to striking the vehicle. She complained of left side pain and was taken to Greater Regional Health by a family member.

Creston emergency crews respond to a two-car crash near the intersection of Devoe and Sycamore streets Monday.

Both vehicles sustained severe damage and were towed from the scene. Damage to the Terrain is estimated at $7,500 and $5,000 for the Wrangler.
