Creston Police report - Nov. 15, 2024

Chelsie N. Liesener, 35, of Creston, was taken into custody 10:24 p.m. Nov. 14, in the 1300 block of Hewitt Street on the charge of domestic abuse assault, first offense.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 10:05 p.m. officers responded to a domestic incident. According to an adult male victim, Liesener had been physically aggressive with him and slapped him at least twice. The assault knocked the victim’s hat off his head and he said Liesener continued to be physically aggressive in nature.

Liesener was upset when officers arrived and continued fighting with others at the residence. Officers observed items in a fridge at the residence that were broken during the incident. When officers attempted to detain Liesener she resisted.

Liesener was transported to the Clarke County Jail and was released on her own recognizance at her initial appearance.

Leonardo R. Sawers Bardale, 33, of Chariton, was taken into custody 1:15 a.m. Nov. 15, at Howard and Maple streets on the charge of possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, first offense.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 12:58 a.m. a traffic stop was conducted on a 2017 Cadillac ATS for expired registration. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Bardale. While speaking with Bardale officers observed a green, leafy substance, consistent with marijuana, on the floorboard of the Cadillac. Bardale confirmed the substance was marijuana when asked.

It was also discovered Bardale did not have a valid drivers license.

Sawers Bardale was cited and released from the scene on a summons to appear and was additionally cited for no valid license.
