Possible injuries reported in car-vs.-deer crash in Union County

Possible injuries were reported Sunday as a result of a car versus deer crash.

According to a Union County report, at approximately 5:32 p.m. a 2017 Nissan Murano, driven by Maria K. Dukes, 49, of Afton, was eastbound near mile marker 92 of Highway 34, when a deer entered the roadway from the ditch. Dukes was unable to avoid a collision with the animal.

Impact from the accident caused the Murano’s front air bags to deploy. Dukes was transported by ambulance to Greater Regional Health in Creston for possible injuries.

Damage to the Murano was estimated at $10,000.
