William P. Fargo, 47, of Creston, was taken into custody at 7:07 p.m., Nov. 8, at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on a Union County warrant for the charge of failure to appear on the original charge of domestic abuse assault - injury or mental illness, first offense.
According to Union County court documents, Fargo was ordered to appear in court on Nov. 8 on the original charges and did not.
Fargo was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,000 cash-only bond.

Clinton L. Hoffman, 43, of Diagonal, was taken into custody at 11:19 p.m., Nov. 8, at the intersection of Chestnut and Page streets on the charge of OWI, second offense.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 10:57 p.m. a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado was observed crossing the center line and driving in the wrong lane of traffic on South Chestnut Street. A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with the driver, identified as Hoffman, who had slow, slurred speech and the odor of a consumed alcoholic beverage coming from his person.
Hoffman stated he didn’t know why he was driving in the wrong lane but admitted to drinking at a local bar approximately 20 minutes prior to being stopped. Officers observed a plastic cup in the truck which Hoffman said had alcohol in it.
Hoffman initially consented to field sobriety testing, but after almost falling over during one of the tests, he refused to further participate. Hoffman consented to a PBT and produced a result over .08%.
Hoffman was transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center where he consented to provide a sample of his breath for chemical testing, the result of which indicated a BAC .178%.
Hoffman was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond. He was cited on the charges of open container and driving on the wrong side of a two-way road.

Gordon M. Carroll Jr., 26, of Osceola, was taken into custody 1:24 a.m. Nov. 10, in the 400 block of New York Avenue on the charge of possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, first offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 12:53 a.m. officers stopped a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado for an equipment violation. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Carroll, and the strong odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle. Carroll did admit to there being marijuana in the truck.
A probable cause search was conducted and a marijuana pipe containing marijuana and a grinder containing marijuana were located in the truck.
Carroll was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,300 cash or surety bond.
