Wendi S. Pearson, 42, of Creston, was taken into custody 11:27 p.m. Nov. 1, in the Walmart parking lot on the charge of OWI, first offense and child endangerment.
According to Creston Police reports, at approximately 10:40 p.m. Walmart employees notified officers of a 2002 Toyota Camry driving recklessly, doing doughnuts and squealing its tires in the store’s parking lot. Officers located the vehicle and made contact with the driver, identified as Pearson, who had the odor of alcohol on her breath. A 15-year-old juvenile was a passenger in the Camry.
Pearson told officers she had had one drink. She consented to field sobriety testing and showed multiple clues of impairment. A PBT indicated her BrAC to be above .08%.
Pearson was transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center where she consented to provide a breath specimen for chemical testing. The test result showed Pearson to have a BAC of .116%.
Pearson was taken to the Union County Jail where she was released from after posting $3,000 cash or surety bond.

Meghan A. Mitchell, 23, of Lorimor, was taken into custody 2:45 a.m. Nov. 2, at Adams and Cottonwood streets on the charge of OWI, first offense.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 1:45 a.m. a 2010 Chevrolet Impala was traveling 36 mph in a 25 mph zone on Adams Street. A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with the driver, identified as Mitchell, who had the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her person.
Mitchell admitted to officers she had had a few drinks. She consented to field sobriety testing and showed multiple clues of impairment. She refused a PBT.
Mitchell was transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center where she consented to provide a breath specimen for chemical testing. The test result showed Mitchell to have a BAC of .141%.
Mitchell was transported to the Union County Jail where she was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.

David W. Kemp, 55, homeless, was taken into custody 7 a.m. Nov. 3, in the 900 block of North Sumner Street on the charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine, second offense.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 6:46 a.m. officers were called to Casey’s to remove a male, later identified as Kemp, from the property. When they arrived Kemp was in the restroom of the store. Officers knocked and heard Kemp cussing and the sound of glass breaking. When Kemp opened the door, a broken methamphetamine pipe was observed on the bathroom floor.
Kemp was searched after being taken into custody and other pipes and baggies containing a crystalline substance were found on his person. The substance field tested positive for methamphetamine. Kemp denied the items were his and said they were planted on him and he was being set up.
Kemp was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond.

Eric D. Batson, 35, of Corning, was taken into custody 9:55 a.m. Nov. 3, in the 800 block of North Poplar Street on a Union County warrant for the charge of stalking - using technological device.
According to Creston Police reports, between May and October Batson purposefully used a technological device to send threats, threats implied by contact or a combination of both. These threats refer to causing serious injury and death to the victim.
Batson was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posing $10,000 cash or surety bond.
