Shyanne R. Bird, 29, of Creston, was taken into custody 11:43 a.m. Oct. 26, in the 800 block of South Maple Street on the charge of driving while suspended.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 11:39 a.m. officers observed Bird driving a 2004 Ford Taurus. Bird has a suspended license.
Bird was cited and released at the scene on a summons to appear.

Brayton A. Clausen, 21, of Corning, was taken into custody 12:53 a.m. Oct. 27, at Clark and Elm streets on the charges of OWI, first offense and carrying a dangerous weapon while intoxicated.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 12:30 a.m. a traffic stop was conducted on a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado for speeding and not using headlights when required. When the Silverado’s headlights were activated they were high beams.
Contact was made with the driver, identified as Clausen, and the odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected coming from his person. Clausen had bloodshot, watery eyes and slurred speech.
A loaded rifle was in plain view next to the driver’s seat. An open alcoholic container was also observed in the truck. Clausen made statements about drinking alcoholic beverages earlier. Clausen consented to one field sobriety test and showed validated clues of impairment. He refused two other tests but consented to a PBT, the result of which indicated a BrAC of over .08%.
Clausen was transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center where he consented to provide a breath specimen for chemical testing.The test result showed his BAC to be .111%.
Clausen was taken to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond.

Walter I. Malacara, 34, of Creston, was taken into custody 2:31 a.m. Oct. 27, at Maple and Montgomery streets on the charge of OWI, second offense.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 2:01 a.m. a 2020 Ram with dark window tint was observed northbound on Elm Street. A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with the driver, identified as Malacara who had bloodshot, watery eyes and the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person.
An open alcoholic container was observed on the backseat floorboard. A probable cause search was conducted and three more open containers were discovered. Malacara told officers he had “a few beers,” and later clarified he had consumed approximately six, with his last drink being an hour prior to being stopped.
He consented to field sobriety testing and showed numerous validated clues of impairment. A PBT taken by Malacara showed his BrAC to be over .08%.
Malacara was transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center where he consented to provide a breath specimen for chemical testing. The test result indicated his BAC to be .12%.
Malacara was taken to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond.
