Accident

No injuries were reported Thursday in a two-vehicle accident in Union County.

According to a Union County report, at approximately 12:56 p.m. a 2021 Chevrolet 1500 pickup, driven by Jon L. Steffen, 62, of Creston, was eastbound on Highway 34. The pickup attempted to make a left turn into a driveway at 2127 Hwy. 34, when it was struck by a 2008 Chevrolet C350 truck, driven by Douglas E. Armstrong, 60, of Corning.

Armstrong was also eastbound behind the 2021 Chevrolet. According to the report, the contributing circumstance to the accident was the 2008 Chevrolet following the 2021 Chevrolet too close.

Damage to the 2021 Chevrolet was estimated at $3,000 and damage to the 2008 Chevrolet was estimated at $2,500.
