Creston Police report - Oct. 22, 2024

Alberto Compean, 49, of Cameron, Texas, was taken into custody 1:53 a.m. Oct. 19, at Elm Street and Highway 34 on the charge of OWI, first offense.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 1:15 a.m., a 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander was observed crossing the center lane and begin to cross into the wrong lane of travel. A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with the driver, identified as Compean. A strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected coming from inside the vehicle. Officers observed five open beer bottles in the vehicle and Compean admitted to drinking.

Compean consented to field sobriety testing and showed validated clues of impairment during the tests. A PBT indicated Compean’s BrAC to be above .08%. Compean was transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center where he consented to provide a breath specimen for chemical testing. The result indicated Compean to have a BAC of .174%, more than double the legal limit.

Compean was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from on his own recognizance on a promise to appear.

Nickie R. Stovie, 60, of Creston, was taken into custody 4:31 p.m. Oct. 19, at her residence on a Union County warrant for the charge of failure to appear on the original charges of possession of a controlled substance and five counts unlawful possession of prescription drugs.

According to a Union County District Court document, Stovie was to appear Sept. 27 for pretrial on the original charges and did not.

Stovie was transported to the Union County Jail where she was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.

Joleen M. Most, 46, of Creston, was taken into custody 11:10 p.m. Oct. 19, at Fremont and Maple streets on the charge of driving while barred.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 11:01 p.m. a traffic stop was conducted on a 1991 Ford F150 for equipment violations. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Most, who was found to have a barred license.

Most was transported to the Adams County Jail where she was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond.

Christina M. McDonald, 37, of Creston was taken into custody 6:40 p.m. Oct. 20, at her residence on the charge of driving while suspended.

According to a Creston Police report, McDonald, who has a suspended license, was observed driving a 1998 Dodge Ram on Maple Street.

McDonald was cited and released from the scene on a summons to appear.

Vincent T. Eblen, 18, of Creston, was taken into custody 2:52 a.m. Oct 21, at Elm and Fremont streets on the charge of possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, first offense.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 2:36 a.m. a traffic stop was conducted on a 2006 Dodge Charger for an equipment violation. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Eblen and a open alcohol can was observed in the vehicle. Both Eblen and his passenger were under the legal age to possess alcohol.

A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted. A bag containing a green leafy substance consistent with marijuana was located in the center console of the Charger. Neither Eblen or the passenger claimed ownership of the substance.

Eblen was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from on his own recognizance after appearing in front of the magistrate.
