Creston Police report - Oct. 18, 2024

Paige N. Ruggle, 31, of Creston, was taken into custody 11:22 p.m. Oct. 17, at McKinley Lake on the charge of OWI, first offense.

According to a Creston Police report, a traffic stop was conducted on a 2009 Nissan Murano on the east side of the lake for being in the park after hours. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Ruggle, and the odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected coming from the vehicle. An open bottle of Malibu Rum was observed on the passenger seat. Ruggle admitted to consuming alcohol.

Ruggle consented to field sobriety testing and validated clues of impairment were observed. A PBT result indicated Ruggle to have a BrAC over .08%. Ruggle was transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center were she consented to provide a breath specimen for chemical testing. The result showed Ruggle to have a BAC of .150%.

Ruggle was transported to the Union County Jail where she was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.
