Creston Police report - Sept. 10, 2024

Kayden L. Witt, 24, of Creston, was served 5:45 p.m. Sept 9, while incarcerated in the Union County Jail on a Ringgold County warrant for the charge of violation of probation on the original charge of lascivious acts with a child - life special sentence.

Witt continues to be held in the Union County Jail without bond until see by the magistrate.

Jackie L. Marler, 39, of Creston, was taken into custody 10:16 p.m. Sept. 9, at Page and Cherry streets on the charge of driving while barred.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 9:30 p.m. Marler was observed in the drivers seat of a 1998 Chevrolet S10 at Casey’s General Store on Taylor Street. Marler is known to have a barred license. A male on a scooter arrived at the store and the S10 eventually drove away but was stopped for having improper rear lamps.

Contact was made with the driver, who was the male observed arriving on a scooter at the store. The scooter was in the truck bed of the S10 and Marler was now a passenger, making it apparent to law enforcement Marler had drove to the gas station but called someone to drive the truck after seeing the police. Marler admitted to driving and footage obtained from Casey’s confirmed Marler to be the driver when the truck arrived.

Marler was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond.

Jazmine Stow, 22, of Creston, was taken into custody 1:36 a.m. Sept. 10, at Highway 34 and South Vine Street on a Union County warrant for the charge of child endangerment.

According to a Creston Police report, on Aug. 4 Stow allowed a registered sex offender unsupervised access to her child. During an interview with police, Stow admitted to having knowledge of the male being a sex offender.

Stow was transported to the Union County Jail where she was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond.
