A citation was issued to one driver involved in a two-vehicle accident Sunday near Thayer.

According to a Union County report, at approximately 2:40 p.m. a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Wyatt W. Frasier, 15, of Thayer, was westbound on 185th Street. The 2004 Silverado proceeded through the intersection at Highway 169 and was struck by a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Lyle H. Maynes, 58, of Corning, who was southbound. Maynes was pulling a fifth wheel camper, which hit the back of his truck after the hitch bent and the camper became unhitched from the truck.

Frasier said he looked but did not see the 2022 Silverado. Maynes said he was unable to stop to avoid the collision. Maynes and his passenger were treated for injuries and released.

Frasier was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way to vehicle on the right.

Damage to the 2004 Silverado was estimated at $6,000 and damage to the 2022 Silverado and camper was estimated at $20,000.
