Ryan M. Harris, 46, of Newton, Missouri, was taken into custody 11:49 p.m. Aug. 20, in the 1500 block of North Lincoln Street and charged with assault.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 11 p.m. a possible domestic dispute was reported. When officers arrived in the area, they observed a female, later identified as the victim, sitting on the exterior steps of the apartment building.

The victim said she had invited Harris over and they had some drinks. When the two moved to the bedroom, she said Harris began being physically aggressive, calling her names and putting his hands around her neck. Harris did not stop after the victim told him to and she had to physically fight off Harris in order to leave the apartment.

Harris was transported to the Union County Jail and held on $300 cash or surety bond.

At approximately 3:44 p.m. Aug. 14, Diane Poore of Creston reported a scooter had been stolen from her residence in the 100 block of South Sumner Street. The scooter was described as a Ninebot Kickscooter Max, Model G30P, black with gold trim around the wheels.

Estimated value of the loss is $900.
