Creston Police report - July 23, 2024

Zackary Charles Huddleson, 33, of Afton, was taken into custody 2:15 p.m. July 22, at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on a Union County warrant for the charge of assault causing bodily injury.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 12:39 a.m. June 14, an adult male was assaulted at a bar in the 300 block of West Adams Street. Officers observed the victim to have a laceration on his face and bruising to the head and face, resulting in the victim being transported to the emergency room for medical attention.

The victim identified Huddleson as the person who assaulted him. Officers watched video footage of the incident which showed Huddleson as the primary aggressor. In the footage, Huddleson is seen grabbing the victim by the neck, taking him to the ground and repeatedly striking the victim in the face and head. Huddleson had left the area when officers arrived.

Huddleson was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.

Robbie A. Dohrn, 59, of Creston, was taken into custody 11:05 p.m. July 22, at Elm and Fremont streets on the charge of driving while suspended.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 10:47 p.m. Dohrn was observed to be driving a 2007 Dodge Caliber on Fremont Street. Dohrn has a suspended license.

Dohrn was cited and released on a summons to appear.

Charles A. Hulett, 54, of Creston, was taken into custody 1:16 a.m. July 23, at Highway 34 and Osage Street on the charges of OWI, first offense and possession or carrying of dangerous weapons while under the influence.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 12:23 p.m. officers stopped a 2010 Chrysler Town and County for failure to maintain its lane. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Hulett, who had bloodshot, watery eyes, slurred speech and the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle. Open containers of alcohol were also observed in the vehicle.

A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted, during which, a 9mm handgun was found in the center console with a fully loaded magazine.

Hulett admitted to drinking 12-14 beers while at the county fair. He consented to field sobriety testing and showed validated signs of impairment. A PBT showed Hulett to have a BrAC of over .08%. Hulett was transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center where he refused to provide a breath specimen for chemical testing.

Hulett was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond.
