Kolten L. Marler, 18, of Lenox, was taken into custody July 22, on Filmore Street on the charges of public intoxication, person under 21 using tobacco/vapor product, possession or purchase of alcohol by person 18/19/20 and a Ringgold County warrant for the charges of driving while barred and willful injury - causing bodily injury.

According to an Afton Police report, at approximately 10:48 p.m. due to having knowledge of Marler having an active Ringgold County warrant, Marler was identified and located hiding behind a tractor at the Union County Fairgrounds by the Afton Police Chief.

While speaking with Marler, he was observed to have bloodshot, watery eyes and the smell of alcohol coming from his breath. He later admitted he had been drinking. A PBT indicated Marler to have a BrAC of .141%.

Marler was transported to the Union County Jail where he pled guilty to public intoxication at his initial appearance and was released to the custody of the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Office.
