No injuries were reported Saturday in a two-vehicle accident in Afton.

According to a Union County report, at approximately 6 p.m. a 2014 Subaru Forester, driven by Haylee N. Palmer, 16, of Murray, was backing out of a residential drive in the 500 block of South Clayton Street when it struck a parked 2004 Oldsmobile Alero.

Damage to the Subaru was estimated at $2,000 and damage to the Oldsmobile was estimated at $1,500.

One driver was cited Sunday in a two-vehicle accident in Creston.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 1:06 p.m. a 2024 Toyota Sequoia, driven by Jacqueline H. Welchans, 42, of Creston, was southbound on Birch Street, crossing Carpenter Street, when it collided with a 2012 Dodge pickup, driven by Kierstin A. Swank, 24, of Lenox.

Swank, who was westbound, stopped at the stop sign, looked for traffic, did not see any and proceeded across the intersection. Welchans attempted to stop to avoid the collision but could not.

Swank was cited for failure to provide proof of financial responsibility (no insurance) - accident and issued a warning citation for failure to yield the right-of-way from a stop sign.

Damage to the Toyota was estimated at $2,500 and damage to the Dodge was estimated at $1,000.
