Jerry M. Williams, 45, of Lenox, was taken into custody 7:58 p.m. July 2 at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on a Union County warrant for the charge of probation.

According to an Iowa Department of Correctional Services report, on Aug. 4, 2022, Williams was convicted of domestic abuse assault causing bodily injury and received a partially suspended sentence including up to two years of probation.

Between Feb. 3, 2023, and June 20, Williams tested positive for methamphetamines via urinalysis and twice for amphetamines via saliva test. Williams was discharged May 25, 2023, unsuccessfully, from substance abuse treatment, missed two outpatient treatment appointments, failed to arrive for inpatient treatment twice in January and left inpatient treatment June 24, without permission. Williams had also not made any payments toward court ordered financial obligations. All of which are violations of the terms of his probation.

Williams was transported to the Union County Jail and held on $1,000 cash only bond.

Patrick R. Iiams, 30, of Creston, was taken into custody 6:10 p.m. July 2, at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on the charges of theft, fifth degree and consumption of alcohol in a public place, first offense.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 5:43 p.m., Fareway Grocery Store reported a male, identified as Iiams, had taken a bottle of Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey from the store and left without paying for it. Witnesses said Iiams was seen outside of the store, in an area accessible to the public, consuming the alcohol.

Iiam was located nearby in a public alley. He was observed to have bloodshot, watery eyes and made odd statements which were incoherent and inconsistent with normal conversation. He was also sweating and appeared agitated.

Iiams consented to a PBT and was given multiple attempts, but was unable to provide an accurate sample for testing.

Iiams was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $600 cash or surety bond.
