Jessica L. Wilker, 35, and Darren M. Wilker, 30, both of Creston, were taken into custody 5:35 p.m. May 24, in the 700 block of West Adams Street on the charge of assault causing bodily injury - no intent.
According to a Creston Police report, Wilker’s dog ran onto the victim’s property in the 700 block of West Adams Street. Jessica and Darren entered the victim’s home and assaulted the victim. The victim stated Darren punched her in the face and Jessica pushed her. The victim had bruising on her face. Jessica and Darren made statements consistent with the victim’s statement to officers.
Jessica and Darren were transported to the Union County Jail where they were released from after each posted $1,000 cash or surety bond.

Christopher Cerda-Romo, 32, of Lenox, was taken into custody 3:50 a.m. May 25, at Taylor and Sumner streets on the charges of driving while license revoked; OWI, second offense and providing false information.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 2:14 a.m. a 2018 KIA Soul was stopped after being observed traveling 45 mph in a 25 mph zone. Contact was made with the driver, who was known by officers to be Cerda-Romo. He told officers he had no identification with him but claimed his name was Carlos. Cerda-Romo has a revoked license for an OWI in August 2023.
The odor of a consumed alcoholic beverage was detected coming from the vehicle. Cerda-Romo said he had not been drinking and the beer cans and bottles in the car were old. Officers checked the cans and bottles and found them to empty and warm. He was observed to have slurred speech and bloodshot, watery eyes.
Cerda-Romo was transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center for testing. He refused all field sobriety tests, a PBT and refused to provide a breath specimen for chemical testing.
Officers located an ID card in his wallet, confirming him to be Cerda-Romo.
Cerda-Romo was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $3,300 cash or surety bond.

Roger A. Mains, 55, of Villisca, was taken into custody 9:44 p.m. May 25, at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on a Union County warrant for nine counts of theft, fifth degree.
According to a Creston Police report, from June 30, 2023, through April 18, Mains was seen in Walmart security footage footage on nine occasions not scanning for items while using the self checkout and leaving the store with unpaid for items. The total of the unpaid items over all occasions was $180.85.
Mains was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $2,700 cash or surety bond.

Christopher R. Bird, 34, of Creston, was taken into custody 10:37 p.m. May 26, at Prairie and Spruce streets on the charges of OWI, second offense; two counts of child endangerment. He was cited for no valid driver’s license and failure to provide proof of financial liability (no insurance)
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 10:17 p.m. Bird was the driver of a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban which hit a legally parked truck and trailer. While speaking with Bird, officers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath. He had bloodshot, watery eyes, impaired balance and slurred speech. Bird admitted to officers he had eight beers at a friend’s residence. Two minor females were in the Suburban at the time of the accident.
Bird refused all field sobriety testing and a PBT. After being transported to the law enforcement center, He consented to provide a urine sample for chemical testing. Bird was convicted of OWI, first offense in January in Union County.
Bird was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $6,000 cash or surety bond.

Mary L. Baxter, 49, of Blythedale, Missouri, was taken into custody 2:05 a.m. May 27, at Irving and Chestnut streets on the charge of OWI, first offense and was later charged with false claim of emergency.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 11:27 p.m. May 26, officers observed a 2007 Hummer HU3 eastbound on Howard Street without a license plate light. A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with the driver, identified as Baxter. Baxter had slurred speech, watery eyes and admitted to drinking alcohol.
Baxter refused all field sobriety tests and a PBT. She was transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center where she refused to provide a breath specimen for testing. While at the law center, Baxter called 911 multiple times, without reason, tying up emergency communication lines.
Baxter was transported to the Union County Jail where she was released from after posting $1,300 cash or surety bond.

April M. Roberts, 37, of Creston, was taken into custody 3:35 a.m. May 27, at Wyoming Avenue and Taylor Street on the charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while suspended.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 3:21 a.m. Roberts was observed driving a Chevrolet S10 on Wyoming Avenue. Roberts has a suspended license. During the course of the traffic stop, Roberts consented to a search of the S10, during which, a marijuana pipe was located. Roberts took ownership of the pipe.
Roberts was cited and released at the scene on a summons to appear.

Emmitt C. Johnston, 75, of Bedford, was taken into custody 5:50 a.m. May 27, in the 1700 block of Townline Road on a Page County warrant for failure to appear on the original charge of driving while license denied or revoked.
According to Page County District Court documents, Johnston was to appear Dec. 4, 2023, for an initial appearance on the original charge and did not.
Johnston was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,000 cash only bond.

Jennifer A. Self, 34, of Creston, was taken into custody, 10:42 p.m. May 27, at Jarvis and Russell streets on the charge of driving while suspended.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 10:23 p.m. Self was observed driving a 2002 Buick Lesabre on Jarvis Street. Self has a suspended license.
Self was cited and released at the scene on a summons to appear.

Megan M. Brown, 43, of Lorimor, was taken into custody 6:04 p.m. May 27, in the 300 block of North Street on the charge of driving while suspended.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 5:41 a.m., Brown was observed driving a 2012 Ford Fusion. Brown has a suspended license.
Brown was cited and released at the scene on a summons to appear.
