Robert T. Jackson, 45, and Deanne M. Jackson, 47, both of Creston were taken into custody 12:33 a.m. May 4, at the intersection of Mills and Sumner streets on the charge of possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine, first offense. Robert was additionally charged with driving while suspended.
According to a Creston Police report, a traffic stop was conducted on a 2011 Chrysler 200, after officer’s observed Robert, who is known to have a suspended license, driving the vehicle. Deanne was a passenger.
Robert gave officers consent to search the vehicle. During the search, a silicone container with a crystalline substance was located. The substance field tested positive for methamphetamine. Deanne said she had seen the container while cleaning the car and threw it in the center console, not knowing who it belonged to. Robert denied knowing about the container. Neither party claimed ownership of it.
Robert and Deanne were transported to the Union County Jail where Robert was released from after posting $1,300 cash or surety bond and Deanne was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.

Aaron J. Cozad, 21, of Creston, was taken into custody 2:36 a.m. May 4, at the intersection of Chestnut and Fremont streets on the charges of OWI, first offense and driving while revoked.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 2:08 a.m. officers observed a 2015 Ford F150 southbound on Commerce Road which failed to stop at the stop sign at Highway 34. The F150 turned west onto Highway 34 and failed to dim its high beams as it passed officers. Officers got behind the truck on South Chestnut Street and paced it traveling 39 mph in a 25 mph zone.
A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver, identified as Cozad, who had bloodshot, watery eyes, slurred speech and the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person. He admitted to drinking at a local bar prior to the stop. An open beer can was observed in the center cup holder of the truck.
Cozad consented to field sobriety testing which showed validated clues of impairment and he consented to ARIDE testing, which provided indicators of impairment. Cozad refused PBT and to provide a breath specimen for chemical testing.
Cozad was found to have a revoked license, due to a January OWI.
Cozad was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond.

Carrie A. Johns, 49, of Creston, was taken into custody 3:52 p.m. May 4, at Jarvis and Adams streets on the charge of driving while barred.
According to a Creston Police report, officers observed a 2001 Chrysler Town and Country being driven by Johns in the area of Jarvis and Adams streets. Johns was known to have a barred license. A traffic stop was conducted and she was confirmed to have a barred license.
Johns was transported to the Union County Jail where she was cited and released on a summons to appear.

Daemon C. Rodriguez, 20, of Midlothian, Texas, was taken into custody 5:25 p.m. May 5, in the 400 block of East Townline Street on the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to a Creston Police report, officers conducted a probable cause search of an unknown vehicle belonging to Rodriguez, on Cherry Street. As a result, a bong and two marijuana pipes were located. Rodriguez took ownsership of all items.
Rodriguez was cited and released on a summons to appear.

Amanda Morris, 41, of Afton, was taken into custody 6:07 p.m. May 5, in the 400 block of East Townline Street on a Guthrie County warrant for the charges of failure to appear on the original charges of possession of contraband in a correctional institution, possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine, first offense and OWI, first offense.
According to a Guthrie County District Court document, Morris was ordered to appear April 8 for arraignment on the original charges and did not.
Morris was transported to the Adams County Jail and held without bond awaiting extradition to Guthrie County.
