Jacob J. Pratt, 39, of Independence, Missouri, was taken into custody 4:04 a.m. March 10 in Stuart on the charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, first offense and possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine, first offense.
According to a Stuart Police report, officers stopped a Kia Sportage in the 200 block of South Division Street for traveling 90 mph in a 70 mph zone on Interstate 80. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Pratt, and detected the odor of burnt marijuana. Pratt admitted to possessing approximately one ounce of marijuana when asked by officers.
When Pratt was told his vehicle would be searched, he became emotional and told officers there was more than just marijuana in the car but was not asked to elaborate.
During a probable cause search of the Kia multiple containers of a green leafy substance, known to be marijuana, a glass pipe with marijuana residue, a plastic baggie containing a crystalline substance known to be methamphetamine and multiple items of drug paraphernalia were located.
Pratt was transported to the Adair County Jail where he was released from after posting $2,300 cash or surety bond.

Richard P. Welsch, 24. of Greenfield, was taken into custody 8:54 p.m. March 10 in the 400 block of SW Jackson Street on the charge of OWI, first offense.
According to a Greenfield Police report, at approximately 7:56 p.m. a 2008 GMC Sierra pickup was observed with a defective headlight and taillight. The truck pulled into a residence drive and the driver, later identified as Welsch, immediately got out of the truck and became confrontational and refused to get back into the truck. An open case of Coors fell out of the truck. Welsch told officers he had consumed two to three beers approximately one hour before being stopped. He said there were no open containers in the truck and there was a firearm.
Welsch was observed to have bloodshot, watery eyes and the odor of an intoxicating beverage coming from his person. He consented to field sobriety testing, which indicated clues of impairment. A PBT test indicated a BrAC of over .08%.
Welsch was transported to the Adair County Jail where he consented to provide a breath specimen for chemical testing. The result of the test indicated Welsch to have a BAC of .152%.
Welsch was released from the Adair County Jail on his own recognizance on a promise to appear.

Jon J. Perry, 59, of Fontanelle, was taken into custody 9:21 p.m. March 11 on Highway 92 for the charge of driving while license denied or revoked - OWI.
According to an Iowa State Patrol report, at approximately 7:50 p.m., troopers observed a 2005 Ford Escape westbound with a passenger side headlight out. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver, identified as Perry. While speaking with Perry, troopers observed an interlock device in the vehicle and Perry did not have an endorsement for a temporary restricted license or interlock device on his license. Perry’s license was found to be revoked from an OWI in 2022.
Perry was transported to the Adair County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.

Dylan M. Cory, 24, of Stuart, was taken into custody 11 a.m. March 14 at the Adair County Sheriff’s Office on an Adair County warrant for the charge of OWI, first offense.
Cory was released from the Adair County Jail after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.

Jason J. Masolini, 50, of Stuart, was taken into custody 11:58 p.m. March 14 in the 400 block of SE 6th Street in Stuart on an Adair County warrant for the charge of violation of probation.
According to an Iowa Department of Correctional Services report, July 21, 2023, Masolini was convicted of criminal mischief, second degree and sentenced to five years in prison, suspended with one year of probation. Masolini violated the terms of his probation September 2023 by admitted use of marijuana, October 2023 and February when he missed probation appointments, and in March when he admitted to methamphetamine use and tested positive for the substance. Masolini has not made any payments toward his court costs or supervision fees.
Masolini was transported to the Adair County Jail where he was released from after posting $5,000 cash or surety bond.

Derik Pickrell, 39, of Fontanelle, was taken into custody 7:51 p.m. March 15 in the 500 block of 6th Street in Fontanelle on the charge of driving while barred.
According to an Adair County report, at approximately 7:41 p.m. a 1998 Mercury Mountaineer without plates was observed on Scott Street. When a traffic stop was attempted the vehicle continued until pulling into a back driveway of a residence on 6th Street. The driver, identified as Pickrell, exited the vehicle, who admitted he was barred and was supposed to turn himself into Guthrie County to serve time this evening.
Pickrell was cited and released on a summons to appear and was cited for a new title transfer violation and received a written warning for no insurance.

Brandie S. Whitney, 46, of Creston, was taken into custody 12:38 a.m. March 16 in the 2500 block of Henry A. Wallace Road on the charge of driving while barred.
According to an Adair County report, at approximately 12:11 a.m., deputies stopped a 2010 Chrysler Sebring for a non-functioning license plate lamp and traveling 66 mph in a 55 mph zone. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Whitney, who possessed a temporary restricted license which was not valid unless accompanied by specific documents which Whitney did not have with her. Without the documents, Whitney was a barred habitual offender.
Whitney was cited and released from the scene on a summons to appear and was issued written warnings for speeding and no proof of insurance.
