Brandon A. Howe, 42, of Creston, was taken into custody 2:30 p.m. Jan. 29, in the 400 block of South Vine Street on a Union County warrant for the charge of gathering where marijuana is used.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 11:45 p.m. Jan. 3 officers were at a residence on South Vine Street serving arrest warrants on two individuals at the residence. While at the residence officers observed a marijuana bong in plain view, leading them to obtain a search warrant for the home. Howe was located at the residence. The odor of smoked marijuana inside the residence was detected and multiple bags of a green leafy substance, consistent with marijuana, were located as well as a freshly burnt joint and paraphernalia, were found in the common area of the home.
Howe was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.

Carrie N. Pendegraft, 45, of Creston, was taken into custody 7:47 p.m. Jan. 29 at Highway 25 and Townline Street on the charges of possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, third or subsequent offense; possession of a firearm or offensive weapon by a felon; keeping premises or vehicle for controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Pendegraft was cited for the offenses of open container by persons over 21 and driving while suspended.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 7:20 p.m. officers stopped a 2017 Ram 1500 for an equipment violation. Contact was made with the driver of the truck, identified as Pendegraft. While speaking with her, the odor of marijuana was detected. Pendegraft advised officers her license was suspended.
Officers told Pendegraft a search of the vehicle would be conducted, Pendegraft advised there was at least one gun in the truck, possibly two. Officers located a AR15 style rifle in the back seat. Pendegraft has multiple felony convictions prohibiting her from having firearms.
During the probable cause search two glass jars with THC wax residue, a marijuana grinder, a plastic container for THC gummies and a pill bottle containing a green leafy substance, consistent with marijuana, where located. Pendegraft has prior drug possession convictions in 2006, 2007, 2019 and 2021.
Pendegraft was transported to the Union County jail where she was released from after posting $12,300 cash or surety bond.
