No injuries were reported Friday when an SUV struck a state snow plow in Creston.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 2:28 p.m. a 2020 International truck with snow plow, driven by Branden Conley, 51, of Creston, was southbound on South Sumner Street, crossing the Highway 34 intersection on a green light, when it was struck by a 2012 Toyota Venza, driven by Holly A. Oliphant, 49, of Lenox, who was following the truck.

Oliphant told officers she believed the plow was going to make a left-hand turn and attempted to go around the truck on the right side, unaware she and the truck were both in the same lane of travel and hit the edge of the plow.

Damage to the Venza was estimated at $1,500. No damage to the plow was reported.

No citations were issued in a one-vehicle accident Saturday in Union County.

According to a Union County report, at approximately 7:53 p.m. a 2004 GMC Sierra pickup, driven by Nicholas Johnson, 32, of Leon, was eastbound on U.S. Highway 34 near Tulip Avenue when Johnson said a small car was westbound on the highway and crossed the center line. Johnson swerved to avoid a head-on collision with the car and struck a bridge railing.

Johnson was unable to provide further information on the vehicle, but said it continued westbound.

Damage to the Sierra was estimated at $2,000.
