Jasmine T. Caplinger, 18; Jeffrea M. Van Scoy, 18 and Kallay A. Burchett, 20, all of Creston, were taken into custody 1:17 p.m. Nov. 22 at 150th Street and Willow Avenue on the charges of possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, first offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to an Adams County report, at approximately 12:47 p.m., a 2017 Chevrolet Cruz was stopped for traveling 74 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputies made contact with the driver, identified as Van Scoy, and the odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle. Van Scoy admitted to deputies marijuana and bongs were in the car.
Van Scoy and her passengers, identified as Caplinger and Burchett were removed from the vehicle and a probable cause search was conducted. Multiple containers of THC wax, approximately 15 grams of a green leafy substance consistent with marijuana, pipes and bongs with burnt black residue in them and grinders were found in the Cruz. Both Caplinger and Burchett told deputies they had smoked marijuana.
Caplinger, Van Scoy and Burchett were transported to the Adams County Jail where they were released from after posting $1,300 cash bonds each.
Van Scoy faces additional charges pending lab results.

Makinze L. Reed, 33, of Lenox, was taken into custody Nov. 23 on the 2700 block of Sycamore Avenue in Lenox on the charge of OWI, first offense.
According to an Adams County report, at approximately 2:48 a.m., a 2020 KIA Optima was observed southbound on Sycamore Avenue traveling 68 mph in a 55 mph zone and having difficulty maintaining its lane. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver, identified as Reed, who had bloodshot, watery eyes and the odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected coming from the vehicle.
Reed consented to field sobriety testing, which showed multiple clues of impairment. Reed was asked to take a PBT but refused. She was transported to the Adams County Jail where she consented to provide a breath sample for testing, the result of which indicated a BAC of .117%.
Reed was released from the Adams County Jail after posting $1,000 cash bond.

Desire D. Ladd, 25, of Council Bluffs, was taken into custody 11:39 a.m. Nov. 27 at the Pottawattamie County Jail on an Adams County warrant for the charge of failure to appear on the original charges of possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, first offense and unlawful possession of prescription drugs.
According to an Adams County District Court document, Ladd was to appear in court April 20, 2021, for a show cause hearing on the original charges and did not.
Ladd was transported to the Adams County Jail and held on $25,000 cash only bond.

Patrick Jones, 54, of Lenox, was taken into custody Nov. 30 on two Adams County warrants for failure to appear on the original charges of OWI, first offense and eluding and failure to appear on the original charge of interference with official acts.
According to Adams County District Court documents, Jones was to appear in court Oct. 31 for a show cause hearing on the original charges of OWI and eluding and did not. A show cause hearing for the original charge of interference with official acts was scheduled Nov. 16, Jones failed to appear for the hearing.
Jones was transported to the Adams County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond and $500 cash only bond.

Jacob Franson, 35, of Villisca, was taken into custody Dec. 1 on Highway 34 near Corning, on the charges of possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, first offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to an Adams County report, at approximately 9:46 p.m. deputies stopped a 2007 Toyota Camry for not having appropriate license plate lamps and traveling 60 mph in a 55 mph zone. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Franson, and the odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle.
A search of Franson’s person resulted in a pipe used to smoke marijuana, and approximately one gram of a green leafy substance, consistent with marijuana, being located.
Franson was transported to the Adams County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,300 cash bond.

Christian Sexton, 21, of Bellevue, Nebraska, was taken into custody Dec. 5 at the Sarpy County, Nebraska, Jail on an Adams County warrant for the charge of sexual abuse, second degree.
According to an Adams County report, on Oct. 24, a victim under the age of 14 reported Sexton had performed a sexual act approximately 10 times while the victim was at a parent’s home in Corning between Aug. 1 and the date of the report.
The victim was tickled by Sexton after he was told to stop by the victim, during which, the victim said Sexton inappropriately touched the victim. Sexton admitted to being around the victim on three to four occasions and tickling the victim once, but denied any inappropriate actions.
Sexton was transported to the Adams County Jail and held on $25,000 cash only bond.

Dennis Nekuda, 60, of Corning, was taken into custody 10:08 p.m. Dec. 5. on 17th and Quincy streets on the charge of OWI, first offense.
According to an Adams County report, at approximately 9:38 p.m. a 2007 Chevrolet Impala was reported swerving all over the road northbound on Highway 148 but the Impala stopped on the shoulder. Deputies located the Impala north of town and observed the rear portion of the car still on the traveled portion of the roadway.
Contact was made with the driver, identified as Nekuda, who had slurred speech, bloodshot, watery eyes and the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person. When stepping out of the vehicle Nekuda was observed to have a staggered gait and stumbled while walking. Nekuda refused field sobriety testing and a PBT. He was transported to the Adams County Jail where he refused to provide a breath sample for testing.
Nekuda was realeased from the Adams County Jail after posting $1,000 cash bond.
