Adair County arrest report - Oct. 16, 2023

Arty Iwo, 27, of Sioux City, was taken into custody 8 p.m. Oct. 9 at the exit 86 onramp of Interstate 80 eastbound for the charge of driving while license denied or revoked.

According to an Adair Police report, at approximately 6:53 p.m. officers observed a 2023 Toyota Tacoma southbound on 5th Street cross the center line and then quickly correct. Officers followed the truck and observed it drive onto the offramp heading the wrong way onto the interstate. The Tacoma nearly struck a vehicle exiting the interstate before turning around at the bottom of the ramp. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver, identified as Iwo, who said his GPS told him to turn there. Iwo told officers he did not have a license. After running his information, he was found to be revoked for OWI test failure.

Iwo was transported to the Adair County Jail where he was released from on his own recognizance.

Alex J. Kolthoff, 36, of Lenox, was taken into custody 12:30 p.m. Oct. 10 on two Adair County warrants for the charges of harassment, first degree and criminal mischief, fourth degree.

According to Greenfield Police and Adair County Sheriff’s Office reports, on two separate occasions a female from Greenfield contacted law enforcement in September reference her ex-boyfriend, identified as Kolthoff.

On Sept. 17 the female reported Kolthoff had been harassing her, calling her children, messaging her work, threatened her, burnt her belongings and calls her daily since they broke up in July. Kolthoff has messaged her friends and her employer attempting to get her fired and held an unloaded gun over her head, cocking it over and over until her son called police. The female said she has blocked Kolthoff’s number but he then started calling from a restricted number.

On Sept. 27 the same female reported she had been driving around with Kolthoff who became upset and damaged her vehicle when she told him she was seeing someone new. She said he began by hitting the roof of the vehicle and then punched the windshield causing a spiderweb crack on the passenger side. Kolthoff also told her if she doesn’t hang out with him he will contact her employer and tell them she is not qualified for her position.

Kolthoff was transported to the Adair County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.

Jasmine D. Vance, 31, of Pahrump, Nevada, was taken into custody 2:37 p.m. Oct. 10 on the charge of possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine, first offense.

According to an Iowa State Patrol report, at approximately 11:21 a.m. a 2023 Kia Soul was stopped on Interstate 80 for traveling 77 mph in a 70 mph zone. While speaking with the driver, identified as Vance, troopers became suspicious of criminal activity and a state patrol K9 narcotic detecting dog was ran on the vehicle. The K9 alerted on the vehicle and a probable cause search was completed. A plastic bag inside of a bag found on the front passenger seat was located containing a crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine was located during the search.

Vance was transported to the Adair County Jail and held on $1,000 cash only bond.
