Jabon Allen L. Diercks, 34, of Creston, was taken into custody 9:28 a.m. Oct. 12 at Clark and Elm streets, on a Union County warrant for the charge of failure to appear on the original charge of possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine, first offense.
Diercks was transported to the Union County Jail and released to the custody of Montgomery County.

David C. McLain, 36, of Creston, was taken into custody 1:30 p.m. Oct. 12 at the Union County Law Enforcement Center and charged with two counts of assault.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 12:38 p.m. Oct. 11, McLain assaulted a juvenile and an adult male in the 100 block of E. Taylor Street without justification.
McLain was cited and released on a summons to appear.

Jacob J. Davis, 27, of Creston, was taken into custody 3 p.m. Oct. 12 at Maple and Mills streets on a Union County warrant for the charge of violation of probation. He was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, third or subsequent offense.
According to an Iowa Department of Correctional Services report, on Sept. 22 Davis was convicted of harassment, first degree, and received a suspended sentence with two years of probation. Davis failed to contact the probation office and his whereabouts were unknown. An attempt to contact him by his attorney on the case also failed. According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 3 p.m. officers observed Davis standing near the intersection and knew him to have a valid warrant. After being taken into custody, Davis was searched and officers located approximately 3 grams of marijuana on his person. Davis has at least two prior convictions for possession of marijuana.
Davis was transported to the Union County Jail and held on $2,000 cash only bond for the violation and $2,000 cash or surety for the new charge.
