Robert Pilon Jr., 50, of Creston, was taken into custody Oct. 3 near Afton at Highway 34 and old Highway 34 and charged with driving while suspended and OWI, second offense. He was also cited for no insurance, expired registration and speeding.
According to a Union County report, at approximately 7:26 p.m. deputies observed a 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling 79 mph in a 55 mph zone. The motorcycle was stopped and contact was made with the driver, identified as Pilon, who had bloodshot, watery eyes and the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person. He told deputies he had been drinking Crown Royal Whiskey and had a few beers.
Pilon consented to field sobriety testing and showed clues of impairment. A PBT test indicated a BrAC of .163%. Pilon was transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center where he consented to provide a breath specimen for chemical testing. The test result showed Pilon’s BAC at .152%.
Pilon was convicted of OWI, first offense September 2022 in Union County and has a suspended driver’s license.
He was transported to the Union County Jail and held on $2,000 cash or surety bond.
