Caleb Fredrickson, 34, of Lorimor, was taken into custody Friday, Sept. 29 on Union County warrants charging him with violation of parole and failure to appear on the original charge of three counts of theft, third degree.

According to an Iowa Department of Correctional Services report, Fredrickson violated the conditions of his parole in December 2022 when a saliva test was positive for methamphetamine and other amphetamines; in January 2023 a urine test was positive for methamphetamine; in April and July 2023 when his employment ended; in August 2023 when he was charged in Union County for three counts of theft, third degree and in August 2023 after he had made no payments since his release on parole toward court costs in multiple counties.

According to Union County District Court documents, Fredrickson was to appear in court Sept. 29 for a pre-trial conference on the original charges and did not appear.

Fredrickson was transported to the Union County Jail and held without bond on the department of corrections charges and $6,000 cash only bond for failure to appear.

Sean Stauffer, 36, of Creston, was taken into custody Oct. 3 on an Adams County warrant for the charge of failure to appear.

According to an Adams County report, Stauffer was scheduled to appear in court Aug. 14 for a show cause/contempt hearing and did not appear.

Stauffer was transported to the Union County Jail and held on $300 cash only bond or pending transfer of custody to Adams County.

Michael King, 52, of Creston, was taken into custody Oct. 3 on a Union County warrant for the charge of sex offender - registration violation, first offense.

According to a Union County report, an investigation done by the sheriff’s office determined King, who is a sexual offender, was given a vehicle for his use by his employer. King used the vehicle as a daily vehicle which he took home from January 2019 through July 2022, but the vehicle was never registered with the sheriff’s office as part of his registration requirements.

King was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond.
