Creston Police report Sept. 13, 2023

Margaret J. Williams, 35, of Creston was taken into custody 10:04 a.m. Sept. 12 at her residence on a Ringgold County warrant for the charge of burglary, third degree.

According to a Ringgold County report, at approximately 11:51 a.m. June 5 Williams entered a storage unit and stole a kayak and rocking horse. The kayak was found in Williams’ possession, strapped to the roof of her vehicle. Williams turned the kayak over to authorities.

Williams was transported to the Adams County Jail and held on $5,000 cash only bond.

Brandon H. Whitfield, 36, of Creston, and Chelsey M. Madison, 28, of Creston, were taken into custody 12:05 p.m. Sept. 12 on the charge of contempt - violation of a protective order.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 11:29 a.m. officers responded to the 800 block of North Sycamore Street for a domestic dispute. The reporting party told officers Whitfield and a family member had been in a verbal altercation close to turning physical. They stated Whitfield and Madison were upstairs at the residence. Officers confirmed a valid Union County protective order was in place between Whitfield and Madison.

Whitfield and Madison were transported to the Union County Jail where Whitfield was released from after posting $300 cash or surety bond and Madison was released on her own recognizance.
