Drew Steckelberg, 23, of Adair, was taken into custody 9:30 p.m. Aug. 13 in Adair on the charge of theft, fifth degree.

According to an Adair Police report, at approximately 7 p.m. Steckelberg entered Casey’s in Adair and walked around the store then poured himself a cup of coffee. He then left through the non-emergency door in the back of the store. Two clerks saw him and identified him. The manager of the store reported the incident to officers, who located Steckelberg at his residence. Steckelberg told officers he was going back to pay for the coffee.

Steckelberg was transported to the Adair County Jail where she was released from after posting $300 cash or surety bond.

Jereamy L. Rice, 45, of Stuart, was taken into custody 6:40 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Adair County Sheriff’s Office on an Adair County warrant for the charge of violation of probation.

According to an Iowa Department of Correctional Services report, Rice was convicted Nov. 27, 2021, of driving while barred - habitual offender and sentenced to two years prison, suspended with two years of probation. Rice violated the terms of his probation June 27 when he tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine use and Rice admitted to alcohol and THC use July 4. On Aug. 3 Polk County issued a warrant for Rice for the charge of harassment, first degree.

Rice was transported to the Adair County Jail and held without bond until his initial appearance in Adair County District Court.

Ryan C. Kissell, 42, of Creston, was taken into custody 1:05 p.m. Aug. 16 on a Union County warrant for 21 counts of sexual abuse, second degree; 24 counts of lascivious acts with a child and one count sexual abuse - continuous sexual abuse of a child.

Kissell was transferred to the custody of the Union County Sheriff’s Office.

Donald J. Noggle, 53, of Stuart, was taken into custody 5:53 p.m. Aug. 17 in Adair on the charge of theft, fifth degree.

According to an Adair Police report, at approximately 5 p.m. police were notified of a male, stealing food items from Dollar General in Adair by concealing items in his pants. The male left the business in a Ford Escape with a ladder on top. Police located the vehicle and a pack of smoked sausage inside of it. The driver, identified as Noggle, was verified by a Dollar General employee, to be the male who stole the sausage from the store.

Noggle was transported to the Adair County Jail where he was cited and released from on a summons to appear. Noggle was given a warning for driving while suspended.

Jo L. Shaw, 52, of Des Moines, was taken into custody 8 a.m. Aug. 18 after turning herself in on an Adair County warrant for the charge of failure to appear on the original charge of violation of probation.

According to an Adair County District Court document, Shaw was to appear in court June 23 on the original charge and did not.

Shaw was transported to the Adair County Jail and held without bond until seen by a judge.
