Tiffany R. Holland, 44, of Portland, Oregon, was taken into custody 5:16 a.m. July 2, by Stuart Police Department on charges of possession of controlled substance - fentanyl, second offense and possession of a drug paraphernalia.

According to a Stuart Police report, at approximately 3:28 a.m. officers initiated a traffic stop on a 2023 Ford Explorer on Interstate 80 westbound, observed traveling 98 mph in a 70 mph zone. Contact was made with the occupants and officers detected the odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted. A small amount of marijuana was discovered. Also located during the search in a bag on the rear floor board behind the front passenger seat were several pieces of aluminum foil with residue, a pipe made of aluminum foil and a clear plastic container with a white powder residue. The front seat passenger, identified as Holland, stated the bag belonged to her. When asked what was in the container, Holland told officers the powder was fentanyl powder.

Holland was transported to the Adair County Jail where she was released from on pre-trial release after posting $2,300 cash or surety bond.

Hollie M. Perrin, 26, of Fontanelle, was taken into custody 3:41 a.m. July 3 at Dover and 235th streets in Fontanelle and charged with OWI, second offense.

According to an Adair County report, at approximately 1:13 a.m. Adair County was notified of an accident involving an ATV. When they arrived at the location, they were unable to locate anyone in the area. A male arrived at the scene who told deputies his brother’s girlfriend was involved in the accident and got a ride home.

Deputies then spoke to the driver, later identified as Perrin, on the phone and then went to her residence. She stated she was the only one operating the ATV and she had consumed alcohol prior to the accident but had not consumed any more since then. While speaking with Perrin, the odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected coming from her person and she had bloodshot, watery eyes. Perrin refused to be seen for medical treatment.

Perrin consented to perform some field sobriety testing, which indicated clues of impairment. A PBT test indicated a BrAC of over .08%.

Perrin was cited and released on a summons to appear.

Jereamy L. Rice, 45, of Stuart, was taken into custody 8:44 p.m. July 5 in the 600 block of SW 7th Street in Stuart on an Adair County warrant for the charge of violation of probation.

According to an Iowa Department of Correctional Services report, on July 8, 2022, Rice was sentenced to two years prison, suspended with two years of probation for a driving while barred - habitual offender conviction in Adair County. Rice violated the terms of probation in March when he was arrested for theft fifth degree in Guthrie County and admittedly used methamphetamine; In May, on two occasions, Rice admitted to methamphetamine use and to alcohol use during one of these times and in June, probation was notified Rice had two positive alcohol test results at a treatment facility, Rice reported accidental methamphetamine use, stating he had smoked a vape pen he was unaware contained the drug, and was unsuccessfully discharged from treatment.

Rice was transported to the Adair County Jail where he was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond.

James D. Hood, 31, of College Station, Texas, was taken into custody 4:21 a.m. July 7 in the 200 block of South 1st Street in Greenfield on a Morrill County, Nebraska, warrant for the charge of burglary and Adair County charges of fugitive from justice, ongoing criminal conduct-unlawful activity, possession of burglar tools and burglary third degree.

According to Iowa State Patrol reports, at approximately 2:40 a.m. law enforcement officers were conducting physical surveillance of a 2023 Dodge Charger in the Greenfield area. During this time, an unknown male passenger was observed getting dropped off by the Charger in the area of the Nucara Pharmacy. The driver, later identified as Hood, then parked the car in the Union State Bank parking lot and remained in the vehicle. The unknown male was observed on the west side of the pharmacy for an extended period of time, during which, he cut a hole in the west wall of the pharmacy building and made entry.

As one group of officers approached the pharmacy, another group approached the Charger, which Hood remained in. Officers made contact with Hood, who had a valid and extraditable warrant through the state of Nebraska. The outstanding warrant was for a burglary of a pharmacy June 3. During the Nebraska burglary, a hole was cut in the wall to gain access to a safe inside. A large amount of narcotics and money were taken.

The unknown male inside of the pharmacy eluded officers on foot through a exit on the south side of the building. A bag containing several burglary tools used to assist in gaining access were found inside. Hood aided and abetted in this burglary with the unknown male.

During earlier surveillance, in the early morning hours of July 6, Hood was observed in Red Oak casing the Medicap Pharmacy. The Charger drove around the Red Oak area for approximately one hour and parked within a half block of the pharmacy and turned off its headlights. After a marked Red Oak Police vehicle saw the Charger and turned around to approach it, the Charger drove off. Further information obtained alleges Hood then drove to a drug store in Villisca and then south toward Missouri, where surveillance was discontinued.

Hood was transported to the Adair County Jail and held on $32,000 cash only bond for Nebraska charges and $100,000 cash only bond for Adair County charges.

Daron B. Livingston, 31, of Houston, Texas, was taken into custody 6:30 a.m. July 7 in the 700 block of NE Elm Street in Greenfield and charged with burglary, third degree; interference with official acts, ongoing criminal contact-unlawful activity and possession of burglary tools.

According to Iowa State Patrol reports, at approximately 2:40 a.m. law enforcement officers were conducting physical surveillance of a 2023 Dodge Charger in the Greenfield area. During this time, a male passenger, later identified as Livingston, was observed getting dropped off by the Charger in the area of the Nucara Pharmacy. Livingston was observed on the west side of the pharmacy for an extended period of time, during which, he cut a hole in the west wall of the pharmacy building and made entry.

As one group of officers approached the pharmacy, another group approached the Charger. Livingston eluded officers through an emergency exit on the south side of the building and fled on foot. Officers continued to search the area and located a male matching his description run across the highway. The male, later confirmed to be Livingston, was observed walking down the street until seeing a marked patrol car, at which time he fled into an open field. Livingston was given numerous commands to stop running or he would be bit by the dog. Hearing these commands, Livingston went to his knees with his hands in the air and was taken into custody without further incident.

Officers at the pharmacy were granted access by a key-holder and found the pharmacy area had also been breached from inside. A bag of burglary tools used to assist him in gaining access to the building were located in the pharmacy area. It appeared Livingston fled the pharmacy before taking any drugs.

Livingston was transported to the Adair County Jail and held on $100,000 cash only bond.

Alexis Berma, 26, of Sullivan City, Texas, was taken into custody 11:35 p.m. at Highway 25 and 300th Street for the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to an Adair County report, at approximately 11:13 p.m. a traffic stop was conducted on a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu for traveling 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Berma, and the odor of marijuana was detected. Berma admitted there was a marijuana blunt in the center console inside a cigarette pack.

A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted and the blunt containing a substance with the appearance and odor of marijuana was located, as well as two marijuana “roaches” in another cigarette pack.

Berma was cited and released from the scene on a summons to appear and issued warning citations for speeding and no insurance.

Nathan K. Marion, 20, of Adair, was taken into custody 1:12 a.m. July 8 in the 300 block of Cass Street in Adair for the charge of assault causing bodily injury.

According to an Adair Police report, at approximately 1 a.m. officers were notified of an assault. When they arrived on scene, the victim was waiting outside with blood around his mouth and in his teeth and he had marks on his face near his eye. The victim said he and his neighbor, identified as Marion, had an argument after he had gone to Marion’s house, which ended with Marion punching him in the face approximately 20 times. While speaking with the victim, he spit blood multiple times.

Officers then spoke with Marion, who admitted to punching the victim multiple times. Marion had swelling on his right hand and stated his hand was sore from the assault. Marion also admitted to being intoxicated.

Marion was transported to the Adair County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.

Travon D. Timms, 20, of Adair, was taken into custody 7:13 p.m. July 8 in the 300 block of Cass Street on the charge of harassment, first degree.

According to an Adair Police report, Timms, who is the roommate of Nathan Marion who was arrested on assault charges earlier the same day, came outside and began threatening the assault victim after officers left the scene. Timms told the victim he had a gun on the way from Texas with a switch and a banana clip, stating it wasn’t a threat, it was a promise. Timms also said he had just bought a pound of marijuana with his stacks of money.

Officers spoke to Timms, who said he was upset after hearing his roommate was arrested because of the assault but the victim was the one who brought up mention of a gun he was about to be getting though the mail and the victim said people who tell on their friends get “popped” and he never said he was going to do anything to the victim, he just repeated what the victim had said to him.

Timms was transported to the Adair County Jail where he was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond.

Jason Sparks, 33, of Greenfield, was taken into custody 10:53 p.m. July 8 in the 300 block of SE 6th Street in Greenfield on the charge of driving while license is denied or revoked.

According to an Adair County report, at approximately 10:46 p.m. a traffic stop was conducted on a 2006 Honda Civic for having expired registration. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Sparks, was known by officers to have a revoked license. Officers confirmed the status of his license to be revoked until Dec. 17, for OWI test failure.

Spraks’ was cited and released on a summons to appear.
