Xachariah Hinson, 19, of Greenfield, was charged with violation of a no contact/protective order 2:19 p.m. May 7, while incarcerated in the Adair County Jail.

According to an Adair County report, beginning at approximately 12:48 p.m. Hinson made multiple phone calls and sent multiple text messages to two phone numbers determined to belong to two individuals who are protected parties in a no contact order against Hinson.

Hinson remains held at the Adair County Jail on an additional $600 cash only bond.

Kimberly Buckallew, 53, of Fontanelle, was taken into custody 11:10 p.m. May 8 in Greenfield on the charge of driving while barred.

According to an Adair County report, at approximately 10:54 p.m. a deputy observed a Dodge Journey eastbound on Highway 92 which he had previous knowledge of the registered owner not having a valid license. The deputy ran the license plate on the Journey and confirmed the registered owner, identified as Buckallew, was barred. A traffic stop was initiated as the Journey entered Greenfield and contact was made with the driver, confirmed to be Buckallew, who admitted to not having a valid license.

Buckallew was transported to the Adair County Jail where she was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond.

Jesse Queener, 26, of Stuart, was served an Adair County warrant 9 p.m. May 10 while incarcerated in the Adair County Jail on the charge of violation of probation.

According to Iowa Department of Correctional Services reports, on Sept. 7, 2021, Queener was sentenced to five years in prison suspended with three years of probation for stalking. Queener violated the terms of his probation by not providing proof of court ordered jail time being served for a recent no contact order violation, he has made no payments toward court fees and on April 15 was charged in Guthrie County for controlled substance violation, dominion/control of a firearm or offensive weapon by domestic abuse offender, child endangerment - meth exposure, failure to affix drug drug stamp, dominion/control of firearm or offensive weapon by a felon, possession of a controlled substance, second offense, unlawful possession of prescription drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia after a search warrant was executed at his residence.

Queener was held in the Adair County Jail without bond until his initial appearance in district court.

Colten Cooper, 24, of Casey, was taken into custody 3:39 a.m. May 11 on 130th Street and Kent Avenue on the charges of OWI, first offense and stop/stand/park where prohibited.

According to an Adair County report, a Dodge Ram was reported to be parked at the intersection, still running, with loud music playing. The reporting said they could not tell if anyone was in the truck. When deputies arrived, the Dodge Ram was observed to be parked in the traveled portion of the roadway, facing eastbound, within 10 feet of the approach to the stop sign. The truck also had a headlight out. Deputies observed a male seated in the driver’s position with his seatbelt on, who was unresponsive after deputies knocked on both side windows and shined flashlights in his face. After approximately 11 minutes, the male, later identified as Cooper, woke up and rolled down his window. An open container of vodka was observed in the passenger seat of the truck.

Cooper admitted to drinking “a lot” of the vodka. His balance was unsteady and a slight odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected coming from his person. Cooper consented to field sobriety testing, during which, indicators of impairment were observed. Cooper consented to PBT testing which resulted in a test of over .08%. Cooper was transported to the Adair County Jail where he consented to provide a breath specimen for chemical testing. The result of the test indicated a BrAC of .246%.

Cooper was cited and released from the Adair County Jail on a summons to appear.

Marcus Corcoran, 37, of Fontanelle, was taken into custody 3:02 p.m. May 12 in Fontanelle on the charge of domestic abuse assault - impeding flow of air or blood.

According to an Adair County report, at approximately 2 p.m. a female came to the Adair County Sheriff’s Office to report her boyfriend had assaulted her. She stated they had been arguing when Corcoran grabbed her by the neck and head and shook her violently and caused her to have difficulty breathing. This assault occurred in front of a 7-year old child who was laying on the couch crying and scared. She said this was not the first physical altercation they had been in. Corcoran admitted to the argument and to putting his hands on the victims jaw and head and to shaking her but denied choking her.

Corcoran was transported to the Adair County Jail where he was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond.

Michael Merical, 41, of Menlo, was taken into custody 9:03 p.m. May 12 on an Adair County warrant for the charge of dissemination and exhibition of obscene matierial to minors.

According to an Adair County report, Sept. 11, 2022, the father of a minor child reported to Stuart Police Merical had shown his child a sexually explicit video while the child was playing at with another child at Merical’s Stuart residence. The case was reviewed by the Adair County Attorney who recommended the charge.

Merical was transported to the Adair County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.

Jelani M. Bunn, 26, of Boise, Idaho, was taken into custody 8:45 a.m. May 13 on Interstate 80 by Iowa State Patrol on the charges of possession of a controlled substance - cannabidiol, first offense; violation of a no contact/protective order and dominion or control of a firearm or offensive weapon by domestic abuse offender.

According to an Iowa State Patrol report, a 2013 Volkswagon Passat was stopped for traveling 89 mph in a 70 mph zone. During the course of the stop, the strong odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle. A records check showed the driver, identified as Bunn, had a protection order on file prohibiting Bunn and the passenger from having contact. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted. Located in the vehicle was approximately one ounce of marijuana beside the driver’s side seat and a Glock 9mm handgun located in inside of a backpack n the rear of the vehicle.

Bunn was transported to the Adair County Jail and held on $5,000 cash or surety bond.

Leila Grahovic, 26, of Boise, Idaho, was taken into custody 8:49 a.m. May 13 on the charge of violation of a no contact/protective order.

According to an Iowa State Patrol report, Grahovic was the passenger in a vehicle stopped on Interstate 80 for speeding. The driver of the vehicle and Grahovic were found to have a protective order on file prohibiting the two from having contact. Grahovic stated she had attempted to have the order dissolved prior to departing Idaho, but the order was verified as active.

Grahovic was cited and released on a summons to appear.
