Abby Read, 20, of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Kaleb A. Davis, 21, of Clarinda, were taken into custody April 28 on the charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver - marijuana; possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver - synthetic marijuana; possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, first offense; failure to affix drug tax stamp and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to an Adams County report, at approximately 8:52 p.m. deputies observed a 2012 Chrysler 200 traveling 60 mph in a 55 mph zone on Highway 34 near Dogwood Avenue. The vehicle also did not have a driver’s side headlight. A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with the driver, identified as Read, and passenger, identified as Davis. Deputies detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and a probable cause search was conducted.
Located during the search were three mason jars containing a total of approximately 1,024 grams (approximately 2.25 pounds) of synthetic marijuana; a grey tote containing more than 3,500 grams of a green leafy substance identified as marijuana, more than 1,000 grams of THC marijuana wax and 33 full wax cartridges (approximately 10 pounds of marijuana product); $1,000 cash and other containers and baggies commonly used in the sale and distribution of marijuana.
Read and Davis were transported to the Adams County Jail and released after each posting $13,300 cash or surety bond.

Mildred Douglas, 33, of Red Oak was taken into custody 11 p.m. April 30 on an Adams County mittimus warrant for failure to serve jail time.
According to Adams County District Court documents, Douglas was sentenced March 9, 2021, to serve 90 days in county jail for theft of a motor vehicle. She received credit for approximately 1 day served, with 89 days remaining. Douglas did not serve the remaining time and no contact or arrangements were made with Adams County by Douglas.
Douglas was transported to the Adams County Jail and held until the balance of her sentence in complete.

Marlene Trevino, 22, of Lenox, was taken into custody 2:15 a.m. May 2 on an Adams County warrant for the charge of failure to appear on the original charge of child endangerment.
According to an Adams County District Court report, Trevino was to appear in court March 9 for an initial appearance on the original charge and did not.
Trevino was transported to the Adams County Jail where she was released from after posting $5,000 cash bond.

Jose I. Hernandez, 21, of Lenox, was taken into custody 8:21 p.m. May 3 on an Adams County warrant for the charge of failure to appear on the original charge of child endangerment.
According to an Adams County District Court report, Hernandez was to appear in court April 16 for arraignment on the original charge and did not.
Hernandez was transported to the Adams County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,000 cash bond.
