Petrina Lohman, 53, of Saint Regis, Montana, was taken into custody 3:22 a.m. April 10 on Interstate 80 westbound near mile marker 92 on the charges of possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine, first offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to a Stuart Police report, at approximately 2:20 a.m. officers initiated a traffic stop on a 1998 Ford F150 for failure to maintain its lane after it was observed crossing the outside of the lane and crossing over the fog line before overcorrecting and crossing over the center line. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Lohman.

Officers observed a metal scrapping tool, which are commonly used in connection with marijuana pipes and paraphernalia as a way to clean residue from inside. Lohman was asked about the tool and told officer’s she had a marijuana pipe and a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle as well as a Ruger 9mm handgun.

A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted during which, a marijuana pipe containing residue and a 9mm handgun with several rounds in the magazine and one round in the chamber were located in the center console next to the driver’s seat. Officer’s also located baggies containing a crystalline substance, believed to be methamphetamine in Lohman’s purse.

Lohman was transported to the Adair County Jail where she was released from on her own recognizance on a summons to appear.

David Brent, 29, of Des Moines, was taken into custody 3:35 p.m. April 11 from the Polk County Jail on an Adair County warrant charging him with three counts of sexual abuse, second degree.

According to an Adair County report, between August 2012 and November 2014 Brent had child approximately 5 or 6 years in age, perform sexual acts by promising the victim rewards like treats and use of electronics at a Stuart residence.

Brent was transported to the Adair County Jail and held on $250,000 cash only bond.

Chevy Van Sauer, 33, of Greenfield, was taken into custody 8:56 p.m. April 11 in the 300 block of NE Elm Street in Greenfield on the charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and person ineligible to carry dangerous weapons.

According to an Adair County report, Sauer, who was known to have an active warrant for this arrest out of Union County, was observed walking on the sidewalk in Greenfield. Contact was made with Sauer and he was taken into custody on the Union County charges. Sauer told deputies he had ammunition, some picks (or needles) and knives in the backpack he was carrying.

Sauer gave deputies consent to search the backpack. During the search, a knife greater than five inches in length and several used hypodermic needles and a scale with white residue were located.Residue on the needles field tested positive for methamphetamine. Sauer admitted to being a IV user and stated he had been looking to get into treatment.

Sauer is a convicted felon who is ineligible to apply for a permit to carry weapons, preventing him from carrying a knife over five inches in length.

Sauer was transported to the Adair County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond and transferred to the custody of Union County.

Bonnie Decker, 55, and Dillon Savage, both of Lorimor, were taken into custody 2:30 p.m. April 12 on Adair County warrants for the charge of theft, fourth degree.

According to a Greenfield Police report, on Feb. 8 officers were made aware of two checks written on a closed account to two local businesses. The checks, belonging to Decker, were signed by Decker and presented Jan. 30 to Napa for $566.67 and True Value for $91.04. A Napa employee identified Savage as the person who presented payment to the store.

Decker and Savage were transported to the Adair County Jail and held on $1,000 cash or surety bond.

John Whitten, 49, of Des Moines, was taken into custody 8:14 p.m. April 13 on 110th Street and Victor Avenue in Greenfield on a Dallas County warrant for the charge of failure to appear on the original charge of driving while suspended.

According to a Dallas County District Court document, Whitten was ordered to appear Dec. 1, 2022, for a pretrial conference on the original charge. Whitten did not appear.

Whitten was transported to the Adair County Jail where he was released from after posting $300 cash or surety bond.

Stacy Quakenbush, 40, of Lincoln, Nebraska, was taken into custody 1 p.m. April 14 pm an Adair County warrant for the charge of violation of probation.

According to a Department of Correctional Services report filed Aug. 26, 2022, Quakenbush was granted a suspended prison sentence and ordered to serve three years of probation Nov. 12, 2021, for controlled substance violations. Quakenbush violated the terms of her probation when she failed to report to an appointment with her probation officer in Nebraska. Her Nebraska Probation Officer reported Quakenbush appeared to be under the influence or mentally unstable when he last spoke to her on the phone. Quakenbush reported she was sleeping in a tent under a bridge in a homeless camp in the Lincoln, Nebraska, area. She was not truthful about her locations and reportedly has been consuming alcohol and illegal drugs.

Quakenbush was transported to the Adair County Jail where she was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond.
