One person was transported by ambulance for injuries received Friday in a two-vehicle accident in Union County.

According to a Union County report, at approximately 1:20 p.m. a 2002 Jeep Liberty, driven by Alan Blazek, 45, of Fontanelle, was southbound on Clover Avenue crossing the intersection at 160th Street, when the Liberty struck a 2009 Dodge Ram, driven by Michael Wolfe, 72, of Creston, who was westbound on 160th Street. Blazek stated he attempted to break to avoid the collision but was unable to stop in time, striking the passenger side of of the Ram.

A passenger in the Liberty, Velma Blazek, 48, of Fontanelle, was transported by ambulance to Greater Regional Health for a minor head injury. Wolfe was issued a written warning for failure to yield the right-of-way from the stop sign. Damage to the Ram was estimated at $2,000 and damage to the Liberty was estimated at $1,500. Both vehicles were driven away from the scene.
