Four people were transferred by ambulance Sunday for injuries received as a result of a two-vehicle accident in Adair County.

According to an Adair County report, at approximately 3:17 p.m. a 2016 Ram, driven by Judy Sammons, 70, of Orient, was stopped at a stop sign westbound on 300th Street at the intersection of Henry A. Wallace Road. After a semi turned west onto 300th Street from the northbound lane of Henry A. Wallace Road, the Ram attempted to proceed through the intersection and was struck by a 2016 Honda Odyssey, driven by Laura Baker, 55, of West Des Moines, who was northbound on Henry A. Wallace Road and did not have a stop sign.

Sammons stated she did not see the Odyssey behind the semi. The Ram came to rest in the northwest ditch of the intersection and the Odyssey came to rest in the intersection. Sammons was cited for failure to yield to yield upon entering through highway. She was transported by Adair County Ambulance to Adair County Memorial Hospital for neck pain, cuts and scrapes. Baker was transported by Adair County ambulance to Greater Regional Health for head, neck and abdominal pain. Two backset passengers in the Oydessy, Braden Baker, 17 and Brielle Baker, 19, both of West Des Moines, were also transported by ambulance to Greater Regional Health for complaints of pain or injury.

All drivers and passengers were wearing seat belts. Both vehicles were towed from the scene, with damages to the Ram estimated at $10,000 and damages to the Odyssey estimated at $15,000.
