Carolyn Bishop, 88, of Creston, died Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Creston Specialty Care in Creston. Memorial Services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 13, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Pastor Mary O’Riley will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery south of Creston.

Carolyn Lucille (Huffaker) Bishop was born Nov. 10, 1936, to Cecil S. and Maud A. (Sutton) Huffaker in Baxter. Carolyn was educated in Baxter schools.
She was united in marriage to Glen Thomas Bishop Sr. Carolyn worked as a waitress and cook in her work life. She was employed as Mason’s Cafe in Newton and Park Center in Newton. Later, she met George “Red” Kromminga and the two lived together until his death in 1972.
Survivors include her son Glen “Butch” (Mary) Bishop Jr. of Creston; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; her sister Martha Bucklin of Missouri; brothers, Donnell (Shirley) Huffaker of Baxter and Larry (Tesha) Huffaker of Newton; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; significant other Red Kromminga; her sons, Rodney Bishop and Timothy Bishop; grandson Jeremy Bishop; granddaughter Michelle Bishop; daughter-in-law JoAnne and her siblings, Gwendolyn Spearing, Donna Martin and Harlan Huffaker.
