Angela Pullen, 87, of Creston, passed away March 3, 2025, at Arbor Springs in West Des Moines. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Monday, March 10, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Creston. Father Patrick Amedeka will officiate. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery, south of Creston. Open visitation, with family receiving friends will be from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, March 9, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston.

Angela Pullen, daughter of Anne Pearl (Nelson) Lahey and Walter John Lahey was born June 26, 1937, near Casey. Her parents moved from a farm near Casey to a farm just west of Greenfield and then to Greenfield, where she graduated from high school in 1955. After graduating from high school, Angela worked for five years in Des Moines for what was then known as Northwestern Bell Telephone.
On Feb. 27, 1960, Angela married Duane Pullen at St. Johns Catholic Church in Greenfield. After marriage, Angela went to work in the Union County treasurer’s Office in Creston. Over the years Angela worked for the Union County treasurer and the Union County auditor, serving several years as deputy Union County assessor. In October 1999, Angela retired as the deputy Union County assessor. After retirement, she went to work for Cornick Chevrolet/Cadillac, now known as Stalker Chevrolet/Cadillac, where she worked part time for about four years and then retired again.
Angela was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Council of Catholic Women, Elzevir Reading Circle, Greater Regional Medical Center Auxiliary and Hospice and Grumpers.
Angela is survived by her two sons, Greg Pullen of Leeds, Alabama, and Richard (Jackie) Pullen of West Des Moines; four grandchildren: Travis (Lacey) Pullen of Trussville, Alabama, Joel (Jennifer) Pullen of Grimes, Sheena Jones of Leeds, Alabama, and Jeff (Lisa) Pullen of Waukee; great-granddaughter Kyleigh Ann Self; one great-grandson Charlie Pullen; three sisters-in-law, Shirley Lahey of Greenfield, Joyce Lahey of Granger and Sharon (Dick) Montgomery of Urbandale, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Angela was preceded in death by her husband Duane; her parents; her daughter-in-law Kim Pullen and infant grandson Trenton Pullen. Angela was next to the youngest of 10 siblings. Preceding her in death were brothers, Leo (Bonnie) Lahey, Bernard (Fern) Lahey, Jim Lahey, Jack (Deloris) Lahey and Robert Lahey and four sisters, Helen (Donald) Baudler, Mary (Floyd) Rhodes, Anne (John) Clow and Kathy (Don) Funderburk.
Angela’s family will be forever grateful for the loving care bestowed on Angela by the team members at Arbor Springs and Suncrest Hospice, both of West Des Moines.
